The eight–hour flight left me totally wiped.
When I finally got off the plane, I couldn’t hold it
anymore. I ended up puking blood in the bathroom.
Macy rushed me to the hospital, and of course,
a bunch of people saw it.
When I finally came to, an hour had passed.
The internet was blowing up with news about
me being hospitalized with a serious illness.
Everyone was guessing I didn’t have long to
live. Some people even wrote my obituary early.
Г
They said I was getting what I deserved.
Macy handed me my phone.
“Your parents called a bunch of times. I didn’t
answer, like you told me to.”
And wouldn’t you know it, Mom was calling
again.
“, we saw the news. You’re doing great,
the acting is so believable. Sierra’s drama has
totally died down.”
Macy showed me the news on her phone.

her mouth.
The caption read: “Being loved means you’re
always right, lol.”
I replied to my mom, “I don’t have the energy to
<
She clicked her tongue. “Oh, c’mon. Don’t play
coy with me. Yeah, I know you’ve been taking
the rough end of the deal, but you have to
understand. You’re not my real daughter. You
got an advantage, you know?”
“Honestly, it’s your real parents‘ fault. If they
loved Sierra like we love you, we wouldn’t have
to put you through this.”
She went on, “Actually, it feels empty without
you at home. Your dad feels the same. Ever
since you moved, he hasn’t been sleeping. This
family needs you. Hurry up and take care of
things over there, and come back.”
I hung up.
The doctor walked up to me, looking serious.
I cut to the chase: “How long do I have?”
He looked at me with pity, his eyes full of
