Book 2 Chapter 1.
Amelia POV.
I wake up with a smile on my face as I feel little arms wrapped around me from behind and a little body pressed against my chest. I smile as I look at the dark curly hair of my little sister Casey as she sleeps clutched to my chest and I know that means the red–headed terror known
as Roman is behind me.
The twins are both ten years old. I am now eighteen. Still in high school, well last year of high
school. But today is Saturday.
For as long as I can remember, the twins were always escape artists. They figured out quite early on how to open their safety gate and would end up in my bed. Over the years, the frequency slowed from nearly every night to maybe once or twice. No matter how old they
both get, they do this now every Saturday without fail.
The big lump on a dog is laying at the bottom of my bed. Beau, he is my dog. My Dogue De
Bordeaux. I was obsessed with the film Turner and Hooch when I first watched it and hounded
my mom and dad for a dog. Once I proved I would look after if they allowed it.
I even saved up my pocket money to buy him. He is my big baby. I just love the big, cuddly
slobber monster.
“Morning Lia.” Casey yawns and I kiss her mess of dark curls when Roman yawns behind me
and I turn and kiss his head, too.
They are both so different in looks. Casey has dad’s hair colour but mom’s curls, she also has eyes like mine. Roman well he has red hair but no curls, he has dad’s eyes. Both are well behaved well only because they are trouble makers but no one can prove s**t on them. I make sure they never do. They are my siblings, after all.
“Don’t you both think you are getting too big to be sneaking into bed with me?” I ask and they both chuckle, shaking their heads.
“Nope, this is the norm for us and you know it. We know you love it really, Lia, so stop trying to change what we have always done.” Roman says, and I chuckle. He is right. Why change what
isn’t broken?
“Ok, come on, we need to get up. I have s**t to do today.” I say as I rip the quilt back and crawl down the bed just as Beau snores before he wakes up. I give him a quick pat on his colossal
head as I climb off the bed and walk to the bathroom.

After I’ve done my business and brushed my teeth. I re–entered my room and see the bed is now empty but not made. Seriously, they will never change. I walk to my walk–in and grab my clothes for the day.
Ripped pale blue jeans, a white vest top, and my combat boots. I pull my black hair up into a
high ponytail. I remove my nose ring and place a new one in. I do the same with my tongue
bar.
Mom was mortified when I came home with them both. Dad was trying his best to not give me a high five, but he did. I am interning at the clubs tattoo shop. I draw and design tattoo art.
My dad has one of my tattoos on him and so does mom. So that is where I’m heading, to
work.
I have no interest in taking over the positions in the family, and I am not being forced into
something I don’t want to do, not that they would ever force me to do what I don’t want. So I
earn my money and do what I love. Placing my art on people permanently.
I head downstairs and into the kitchen. My mom is cooking and my dad is behind her with his
arms wrapped around her. I watch silently from the doorway. This is how they always are. You
can tell they love each other very much. I know their story and it taught me that love is never
easy. It is hard but unwavering. It means you never give up. If it’s meant to be it will come
back to you.
We don’t live in a clubhouse. We have our home. Well mansion. I know what my parents both
do and I know about the life I was born in to. But whatever, I won’t be taking over. Maybe in a
few years, but not yet.
“Morning love birds.” I say as I enter and both my parents look at me with smiles on their faces. I walk to my parents and give them each a kiss as I grab a coffee and make my lunch.
before I need to head out.
“You working today?” My dad asks, and I nod my head as I add sugar and milk to my coffee.
“Yup, got a few clients in today. Then heading into town to get Beau his food. Then a movie
night with the terrible two.” I say, and my mom chuckles.
“Ok, sweetheart. Don’t work too hard. Love you,” Mom says as she kisses my head and hugs me. I do the same thing as I grab my stuff and walk out, dodging out of the way as the terrible
two come flying down the stairs and running past me, arguing as they run into the kitchen.
“What have we told y’all about running in the house?” I hear my mom and chuckle as I pull
open the door.

“To not too.” Is the last thing I hear as I close the door and head to the garage. Where my car sits waiting for me to climb in. She was the car mom built with grandma when mom was
younger.
The sleek black lines of the Dodge Challenger. Mom gifted me the car on my eighteen birthday. I open the door and climb in and place my stuff down in the footwell of the passenger side. My coffee in the cup holder as I turn the key in the ignition and listen to her
purr.
1 press the button on the fob and the garage doors slide open. I rev the engine a few times as I
slowly roll out of the door and onto the driveway.
I drive to the gate and nod at the guard who opens the gate and I drive onto the road. I drive to the shop and park outside the shop. Grabbing my stuff, I leave the car and lock her up before I
walk into the shop.
“Morning sweetheart.” Colby says. Colby is uncle Richie’s son. I high–five him as I check the
schedule and get ready for my first client of the day.
“Your booked full today. I was hoping for a hand. But never mind.” He says and I look at him. and laugh. I know what he means by a hand. The only clients he gets are women. Women who will do anything and I mean anything for him to ink them. Each to their own. I have seen what these women are offering and caught him a few times.
“No thanks, I learnt that lesson last time. I like my face scar free thanks.” I say as I set up my
station. The last woman he asked me to take tried to fight me. So I kicked her out. This shop
is mine. No one tries to hurt me or mine and gets away with it. I may look like a badass, but
I’m actually quite sweet. Well, until you f**k around and find out.
The bell dings and I look up and my breath catches in my throat. Holy s**t! I look at Colby and
he winks at me. Ok Amelia, professional remember, I stand from my station and walk to the
desk.
“Hi, welcome to Reaper’s Ink. Do you have an appointment?” I ask him. He is tall, easily
six–three. He is built like a brick s**t house. Wearing dark jeans, a pale blue t–shirt that leaves
nothing to the imagination. Dirty blonde hair that is short on the sides and longer on top. His
brown eyes are like deep pools of chocolate. Be still my racing heart.
“Yeah, with Lia. The names is Leo, Leo Michaels.” Well, f**k me! He flashes me a toothy smile and I have to grip the desk. f*****g hell.
“Do you have ID.” I ask and he chuckles, pulling his wallet out of his pocket that is attached to a chain. He hands me his driver’s licence and I check it out. He is twenty–two years old. I hand

it back.
“I’m Lia, please follow me.” I say as I turn and I see Colby smirking at me. I narrow my eyes at him and he chuckles before going back to what he is doing.
“No offence, but aren’t you a little young to be doing this?” I turn to look at Leo and plant my hands on my hips as I scowl up at him. I’m a short ass at five–six. But mom always said dynamite comes in small packages.
“No, I’m not. If you don’t like that I am young, or as you are implying not experienced, or qualified, then take your business elsewhere. Don’t waste my time.” I say and he smirks at me and chuckles, raising his hands in surrender.
“No, you’ll do. You have a fire in you.” He says as he removes his shirt and sits on the couch. f**k! I don’t know if I should be turned on or offended. f**k my life.
