Chapter 69
A flash of surprise crossed Estelle’s eyes. She looked at Jonathan, then turned to Dillon, whose expression remained unreadable. Had she heard that right? Dillon wasn’t actually working with Timothy?
Dillon’s gaze swept across Timothy again.
Immediately, Timothy was intimidated.
He snorted, muttering under his breath, “She deserves it for bullying Alison.”
“Timothy,” Dillon called his name coldly.
Sensing the displeasure in his tone, Timothy instinctively became tense.
He stared at Dillon, asking nervously, “W–What’s wrong?”
Dillon placed his hands behind his back and asked in a low voice, “Was it you who leaked the news about trying to blacklist Estelle?”
“How do you know?”
Before he could finish speaking, Timothy’s face filled with fear, covering his mouth in shock.
Was Dillon really planning to stand with Estelle?
Estelle was just as confused, her eyes now filled with curiosity.
Was Dillon siding with her?
Their eyes met, and Dillon’s lips unconsciously curled into a faint smile.
She was sneaking glances at him.
Noticing his smile, Estelle felt a little relieved.
She quickly averted her gaze and waited for Dillon to continue.
“Dillon.” Alison forced a smile, though it was barely convincing. “I know you trust Estelle,
which is great, but please don’t hold it against Timothy. He only misunderstood because I was hospitalized.”
Mentioning the hospital, Dillon’s mind flashed back to the information from Baxter’s investigation.
Alison seemed very familiar with the Waverly family’s doctors.
She was so familiar with them that she could easily alter Estelle’s medical records.
A cold glint flashed in Dillon’s eyes.
Chapter 69
Alison felt a chill run down her spine. Oh no, Dillon no longer seemed as forgiving as he once
was.
“I just remembered something. I’ll head out first” Alison said hurriedly, turning to leave.
Seeing Alison about to leave, Timothy shot a fierce glare at Estelle before following Alison out.
Dillon approached Estelle.
“Mr. Waverly, your ‘first love‘ just left, and you’re not going to chase after her?” Seth asked.
“My first love?”
A flicker of suspicion crossed Dillon’s eyes.
Then, noticing the closeness between Seth and Estelle, Dillon let out a scornful laugh.
“It seems your thoughts aren’t as pure as they seem. The relationship between Alison and me is something you misunderstood. My apologies.”
With that, Dillon deliberately, or perhaps unintentionally, let his gaze linger on Estelle.
Seeing that she wasn’t willing to look at him, his gaze turned even colder. He gave a sharp warning.
“Estelle, I’ll allow you to socialize with men outside, but that doesn’t mean I’ll tolerate you crossing lines. Men and women should know their boundaries. Watch what you’re doing.”
Estelle was so enraged by his words that her face flushed red, then pale.
What right did this jerk have to say anything about her?
But after Dillion spoke, he walked away without leaving her a chance to respond.
It really pissed her off.
“Estelle.”
Seth looked at her as if wanting to say something
Understanding what he was about to say, she smiled reassuringly.
“Oh, don’t look at me like that. Don’t worry, I stopped taking Dillon seriously a long time ago.”
With that, Estelle turned her attention back to Jonathan.
Jonathan immediately straightened up, grinning apologetically.
“Ms. Sawford, don’t worry. I’ve already messaged my assistant. He’s preparing the mate..als right now, and we’ll have everything delivered by tomorrow evening at the latest.”
“Thank you, Mr. Glover. Shall we continue eating?” Estelle smiled as she invited him.
Chapter 69
Jonathan quickly shook his head, looking flustered.
“Actually, I just remembered something. I have to leave now.”
Without waiting for any further reply, he hastily grabbed his phone and ran out.
Seeing him run off so quickly, Estelle couldn’t help but shake her head in disbelief.
She wasn’t some monster. Was he really that afraid of her?
