Chapter 88
If Estelle dropped dead right here, at least Dillon wouldn’t be able to walk away from it
unscathed. That would be a decent kind of revenge.
Noticing the color drain from her face, he finally loosened his grip a little.
He looked down at Estelle and asked in a low voice, “Didn’t you hate it the most when I was with Alison?”
She almost rolled her eyes.
But when she caught the venom in his gaze, she wisely lowered her head and stayed quiet.
That only darkened his expression even more.
His eyes grew stormy, something unreadable and dangerous simmering beneath the surface.
Estelle was in danger.
Her eyes darted around, looking for any possible way to escape.
Dillon let out a soft, mocking laugh.
“Even if someone shows up, they can see a bit of the fun we have as a couple.”
“You-”
Estelle was so furious she couldn’t even speak.
She glared at him, wanting to curse him out, but held back.
This jerk hadn’t thought about her feelings even once.
Then again, why would he? He couldn’t stand her
If he had ever actually considered her feelings, that would have been shocking.
Taking a deep breath, Estelle steadied herself and looked him straight in the eyes. “What do you even want from me?”
Suddenly, Dillon let go.
He grabbed her hand and started pulling her back inside.
“You’re still my wife. That means you’re obligated to help me with certain things.”
Her heart skipped a beat.
What twisted game was he playing now?
Before she could protest, Dillon was already dragging her into the banquet hall.
Chapter 88
All eyes turned toward them almost instantly.
They were shocked to see Dillon and Estelle holding hands.
Whispers rippled through the crowd. Many turned to look at Alison.
Alison hadn’t expected Dillon to be holding Estelle’s hand just moments after rejecting her.
Tears welled up in her eyes.
Estelle tried to shake her hand free. When that didn’t work, she whispered sharply, “Your
darling Alison is about to cry. If you don’t go comfort her soon, don’t blame her for kicking you out of bed tonight.”
Just then, a sharp pain shot through her hand.
Estelle yanked her hand away, glaring. “Ouch! What the hell is wrong with you?”
With a cold expression, Dillon leaned in and muttered, “I’m not as filthy as you think. Just do your job and play the role of my wife. Don’t ask questions.”
She sneered and rolled her eyes. What a scumbag
She must have been blind back then to ever fall for this loser.
“Alison,” Timothy said, heart aching for her. “Just wait here. I’ll go teach her a lesson.”
“No!” Alison grabbed his wrist.
She glanced at their still–clasped hands, and her eyes darkened again.
But then she smiled.
“Estelle and Dillon are still married. It’s not that surprising for them to act like this. Timothy, let’s not interrupt.”
Timothy thought he understood her and scoffed dismissively. “What’s she so smug about? If she hadn’t drugged Dillon back then–and if he weren’t such a responsible man there’s no way she’d have ever married him.”
The mention of drugging wiped the smile right off Alison’s face.
She glared at Estelle with such venom that it was as if she wanted to tear her apart.
This wretched woman had ruined her plans time and time again. She deserved to die.
Sensing an unfriendly stare, Estelle instinctively looked over.
Aliso
Meeting Alison’s deadly glare, she smiled.
“Oh? She’s mad? Perfect. I have no problem making her even angrier,” Estelle thought.
