Celeste paused for a moment.
Not many people knew about her plans, and she hadn’t mentioned that she was planning to turn the shoplot into a clinic. So, how did he know?
Although she was uncertain, she still decided to be honest. “Yes.”
“I happen to know a great place. Do you want to take a look?”
His voice was calm as lie looked down at her with a steady gaze.
Celeste blinked in surprise. “Mr. Wrenford, are you offering to show me a location? Is it one of your friends‘ properties?”
“Yeah, it’s a friend’s.” Adrian reached for the back seat of the car, “It’s a two–story house, originally a tea house used for receiving clients. The tea house has moved to a new location, and the property is currently vacant.”
As his words settled, Celeste noticed the car door had already been opened.
She looked up at him and met his sincere gaze. It didn’t seem like he was joking.
“Alright, I’ll go take a look with you.”
She climbed into the car, meeting the eyes of the driver, who was none other than Joshua.
He gave her a polite nod, and she returned the gesture with a smile.
The people around Adrian were all like him–cold and composed.
The ride was mostly silent, and if it weren’t for the soft, relaxing music playing in the background, Celeste might have found the atmosphere suffocating.
The location was in the city center, a bustling area, about a half hour’s drive from Aviso Tower. If she decided on this place, she would definitely need to buy a car for convenience.
But that was already part of her plan.
“This is it.”
Adrian led her inside.
Joshua opened the door of the tea house, leading the way.
The space wasn’t too large, but it wasn’t small either. It was perfect for a clinic:
Since it had been a tea house, the decor was very traditional, with many parts not needing renovation and could be used right away. The place also looked new. It seemed to have been renovated in the last couple of years.
Chapter 45
Such a prime location probably didn’t come cheap, though.
Although she and Adrian were essentially family now, that would change soon. There was no reason for him to give her any discounts.
“What do you think? Does it feel suitable?” Joshua asked, a faint smile on his face.
“This place is great. I really like it.” Celeste turned to Joshua. “With such a good location, and the renovation already done, the rental must not be cheap, right?”
Though she had made three million from the gargoyles that Damien had given to Lucy,
setting up a clinic and funding her emerald crafting would require quite a bit of money. So, she needed to control her costs as much as possible.
“Well, that depends on what Mr. Wrenford…” Joshua started to say, but was immediately interrupted by Adrian.
“What’s your budget?”
“My budget is around 8,000 dollars a month, but this place costs at least 30,000 dollars, right?
Celeste raised her eyes and met his piercing gaze.
Adrian’s voice was casual. “My friend’s asking price is 5,000 dollars per month.”
“5,000 dollars?” Celeste’s eyes widened in surprise. “How can your friend offer such a low price?”
A house this nice should have people lining up to grab it.
Joshua, standing nearby, looked equally shocked.
