Celeste’s voice was cool and detached, her expression just as calm.
Adrian asked, “They say once bitten, twice shy. If you really divorce my nephew, do you intend to raise Eloise alone for the rest of your life?”
He looked up, his eyes fixed on her beautiful face a hint of curiosity flashing in his gaze.
Celeste’s hand shook slightly at his question, After a moment of silence, she turned to look at him and answered, “If I meet the right person, I wouldn’t insist on staying alone.”
He didn’t respond immediately but quietly stared at her, as if trying to uncover something deeper behind the complexity in her gaze.
They held each other’s gaze for nearly five seconds before she finally smiled. “Mr. Wrenford, you still haven’t responded to me. Are you willing to cooperate?”
Adrian blinked a few times before shifting his gaze away. He lifted the cup in front of him and took a sip. After a pause, he replied nonchalantly, “Send the details of the house to my assistant later.”
Upon hearing this, Celeste was taken aback. She had mentally prepared for a possible rejection, but didn’t expect him to agree so quickly.
“Let this cup of coffee be a celebration of our partnership!” She lifted her cup.
He also lifted his cup and lightly clinked it against hers. “Here’s to a successful partnership.‘

Just as she set down her cup, her phone on the table began to ring. She glanced at the screen and saw Damien’s name. Adrian had also noticed it.
“Aren’t you going to answer it?” His deep voice came from beside her.
Celeste looked up at him, then decisively declined the call with a swipe of her finger, Her crisp and resolute motion was firmly imprinted in his mind. “He never calls for a good reason. I don’t want to deal with him.”
With that, she flipped her phone over, screen down, and her face was clouded with frustration. “He still hasn’t signed the paper?” Adrian asked, gazing up at her, his expression calm.
Her lips curled into a cold, ironic smile. “No.”
After hearing her response, he said nothing more, and the room fell silent.
Then, he drove them home. As they approached Aviso Tower, Celeste spotted à familiar figure standing under the streetlight. She watched as the car slowly passed the figure, but said nothing to stop it.
Chapter 80
Adrian glanced at her and a smile subtly crept onto his face. In the past, she would make him stop by the side before they reached Aviso Tower
For a moment, he felt that she wasn’t as easy to read as he had imagined.
“Thank you for sending us home, Mr. Wrenford. We’ll head home now.” Celeste grasped Eloise’s hand and instructed her, “Say goodbye.”
“Bye, Daddy Adrian.”
He nodded gently. “Goodbye.”
Damien had been observing them from the moment Celeste stepped out of Adrian’s car with Eloise in tow. He watched the Maybach drive away before hastily approaching them. “Why did Uncle Adrian send you home?”
