That morning, gentle sunlight streamed through the gap the curtains of Charlie’s room. I stood in the doorway, watching his small face still asleep. It looked so innocent, so peaceful. It felt as if the world had paused for a moment just to give me time to enjoy this view. The little boy I once carried, now the center of my universe.
Every breath he took, every subtle movement, made my heart flutter. I remembered how all of this began, the long journey full of challenges. Now, seeing him sleep peacefully, all the fatigue and sadness felt worth it.
I stepped inside slowly, trying not to wake him. Gently, I teached his soft hair, feeling lucky to be his mother. In my heart, I promised to protect him, give him the best, and create beautiful memories that would help him grow happily.
“Charlie, sweetheart,” I whispered softly as I walked closer to his bed. My hand touched his shoulder gently. Time to wake up, darling. It’s morning. Time for a bath.”
A new day had arrived, bringing new opportunities to create beautiful moments with him.
The room was filled with morning light, and I knew today would be special. Gently, I helped him sit up, ready to embark on our joyful morning routine.
Charlie stirred slowly under his blanket, then opened his still half–closed eyes. “Mommy?” he mumbled, his voice small and hoarse.
“Yes, darling. It’s Mommy,” I replied with a warm smile. “Come on, let’s get up. I’ve prepared a surprise today.”

He blinked a few times, then hugged his pillow before finally surrendering to my call. I helped pull the blanket off him, and he sat on the edge of the bed with sleepy eyes.
The soft morning light illuminated his face, and I saw a small smile begin to form on his lips. Slowly, he yawned, trying to shake off the lingering sleepiness. My heart swelled with happiness as I watched him rise, ready to embrace a new day.
“How did you sleep, Charlie? Well?” I asked while fixing his messy hair.
He nodded slowly, then gave a small smile. “Well, Mommy,” he replied in a still lazy voice.
I felt relieved to hear his response. Seeing him smile made me even more excited to start the day. Gently, I patted his head before leading him to the dining table, where breakfast awaited. Today, I had many fun things planned for him.
I chuckled softly. “That’s good. Now, let’s take a bath. Do you want Mommy to help?”
He nodded again, this time more enthusiastically. I guided him toward the bathroom, letting him bring along his favorite little yellow rubber duck. As the water began to flow from the shower, I helped him take off his clothes and lifted him into the small bathtub I had prepared.
Charlie giggled as the water touched his skin. “It’s cold, Mommy!” he exclaimed, but he wore a big smile.
I laughed and replied, “Oh, this isn’t cold, darling. It’s refreshing!” splashing some water on his arm.
He dodged while laughing, enjoying the playful splash. With every splash, the atmosphere became livelier, and I felt this moment was so precious. The day had begun with pure happiness, and I was grateful to share it all with Charlie.
Then Charlie splashed water back at me, making us both laugh. The sound of our laughter, so light and genuine,
was like music to my ears. We played with the water for a while, and I even helped him create soap bubbles shaped like little clouds,
“Look, Mommy!” he shouted, lifting a bubble that resembled a crown. “I’m the bubble king!”
With a wide smile, he placed the bubble on his head, looking adorable and cheerful. I couldn’t help but laugh at him; this simple moment felt so valuable. As we continued to play, our happiness and closeness grew stronger, making this day even more special.
“Bubble king? Then Mommy has to be the bubble queen,” replied, placing a bubble on my own head.
Charlie burst into laughter, and I felt joy just seeing his happy face.
We were both now playing the roles of king and queen in a kingdom of bubbles filled with laughter. The atmosphere in the bathroom felt warm and cheerful, every precious second we spent together strengthening our bond. Today, simple yet meaningful, would become a beautiful memory we would cherish forever.
After our bath, I dried him off with a warm towel. The soft sound of the towel rubbing against his skin made him feel comfortable.
I dressed him in his favorite clothes, a blue shirt with a dinosaur graphic and gray shorts. Charlie looked thrilled with my choice, a wide smile lighting up his face.
With his new outfit, he seemed ready to embark on today’s adventures. His enthusiasm was contagious, and I felt excited to continue this fun–filled day together.
Once we finished bathing, I guided him out of the bathroom
Seeing his cheerful face, I asked, “Are you hungry now, Bubble King?”
Charlie nodded eagerly. “I want pancakes, Mommy!”
“Pancakes? Wow, lucky for you, Mommy has everything prepared!” I replied cheerfully, even though I was just about to make them.
I led Charlie to the dining table, letting him sit in his high chair while I went into the kitchen. He watched me from afar with eager eyes.
His hands busily played with the small spoon on the table, occasionally shaking it as if he were preparing the pancake batter himself. The atmosphere was filled with joy, and I could feel his excitement for his favorite food. Today felt even more special with all these little moments.
I quickly started mixing the pancake batter, glancing at him now and then to make sure he was alright.
Charlie was still busy with his little spoon, occasionally giggling, adding to the cheerful atmosphere. I wanted to ensure every second of our morning was filled with happiness.
As the aroma of the batter began to waft, my excitement grew, knowing this moment would become one of the beautiful memories we would share together. With a heart full of love, I continued to work, hoping these pancakes would bring a smile to his face.
It didn’t take long for the sweet aroma of pancakes to fill the air. I arranged the pancakes on a small plate, adding slices of strawberries and maple syrup, just the way he liked.
