Percy’s expression darkened, but the thought of her still bring cleaning tasks to finish brought him a measure of
satisfaction.
He assumed that seeing his car would make Stellar obediently come over.
To his surprise, she didn’t even glance his way, choosing instead to walk off in another direction.
Percy frowned and quickly stepped forward to block her path.
“Stellar, what’s this about? Still pretending?
To him, her display of feigned strength was utterly ridiculous.
Stellar found his words laughable.
“Mr. Moore, it seems you’ve forgotten. You still haven’t issued the apology statement from last time, have you?”
Her single remark left Percy’s face alternating between red and pale.
However,
remembering that her life after leaving him wasn’t going particularly well, he felt a bit smug
He smirked. “What’s this? Still putting on an act? Reduced to working as a cleaner here, and you’re still pretending? Let me tell you, if you apologize for all the foolish things you’ve done, I might just forgive you.
But to his shock, Stellar ignored him entirely, moving to walk around him.
Unable to contain himself, Percy grabbed her wrist.
“Stellar, are you just shameless? Do you have to-
Before he could finish, Stellar turned around.
Under his furious gaze, her hand shot up suddenly.
Slap!
A crisp sound echoed as her palm left a bright red imprint on Percy’s face.
The scene descended into utter silence.
Percy staggered back from the slap, his grip on her wrist loosening as he stared at Stellar in utter disbelief.
“You… you actually hit me.”
It wasn’t the pain itself that stung the most. What he couldn’t accept was that the woman who used to cater to his every whim, who only had eyes for him, actually dared to lay a hand on him.
At that moment, Percy couldn’t tell whether he was more bewildered or furious
“Has anyone ever told you that running your mouth like this is a good way to get yourself slapped?
After being repeatedly provoked and harassed, she was done holding back.
“You know why you can’t close deals with your clients? Because you’re rude, uncultured, and petty. This slap is for making me risk my life to negotiate contracts for you! From now on, we’re even. Don’t ever show up in front of The again.”
This time, Stellar didn’t spare him a shred of dignity.

Without waiting for Percy to respond, she turned on her heel and walked away with her head held high.
Percy stood rooted to the spot, stunned.
It took him a long moment to process what had just happened. She had completely torn him down, making him feel worthless. But wasn’t she the one who fell so low as to take up cleaning jobs?
His face turned ashen with rage, his chest heaving as anger consumed him.
Just then, his phone rang, breaking through his storm of emotions like an unwelcome intruder.
When Percy saw the caller ID display “Yvonne Harlow,” his first instinct was to hang up out of frustration.
But then his father’s stern warning came to mind, forcing him to suppress his simmering anger and reluctantly answer the call.
“Percy, are you free this afternoon? Let’s go shopping. I’ve had my eye on a new piece of jewelry, and I’d like you to come with me to the store to take a look,” Yvonne’s voice came through. This time, it lacked the arrogance she usually carried, replaced instead with a faint hint of coaxing
Percy’s brow furrowed tightly.
Remembering his father’s instructions, he begrudgingly agreed.
Right, Percy thought he could use Yvonne. If Stellar wanted to keep pretending she didn’t care, fine. But Percy didn’t believe for a second that she’d remain indifferent if he really got together with Yvonne.
Little did he know, on the other end of the line, Yvonne hung up the phone and stood pitifully in front of her father.
“Dad, don’t worry. Once the Harlow and Moore families join forces, there’s no project we won’t land. That incident wasn’t my fault. I didn’t even know that person.
“This time, when I go out with Percy, I’ll make sure to find out what happened and recover the investment…”
