Chapter 26
“Percy, you’re the best,” Yvonne said, lifting her chin proudly.
She shot a smug, challenging look in Stellar’s direction.
Stellar watched the two of them put on their little performance and couldn’t help finding it amusing.
Truly, birds of a feather flock together.
Percy, noticing Stellar’s faintly amused expression and her complete indifference, felt his pride take another hit. His face darkened as he turned to glare at the sales associate
“Well? What are you waiting for? Didn’t you hear me?”
The sales associate quickly explained, “I’m sorry, sir, but that designer piece is one of a kind. As for the others, they’re limited editions and completely sold out. If you’d like, we can place an order and have them shipped in. You’d just need to make payment now and pick them up later.”
“How much are they?”
“The gown is handcrafted with embroidered details. It costs six hundred thousand dollars. The custom suit cost four hundred thousand dollars. This piece here…”
Percy’s eyes widened, and he was momentarily speechless.
The total would run close to two million dollars! No matter how wealthy he was, he wasn’t about to waste that kind of money.
Besides, his company was preparing for its IPO, and they barely had enough funds for operational costs. There was no way he’d spend such an extravagant amount on Yvonne.
“Would you like to place an order, sir?” the sales associate asked again.
Percy remained silent, his hesitation unmistakable.
Yvonne’s face flushed with anger as she realized he wasn’t going to follow through. He won’t even spend a few million on her?
Still, she couldn’t let her frustration show–not here, and especially not in front of Stellar.
Forcing a stiff smile, she said, “Sister, you’re really buying such expensive clothes? Even if you’ve found a rich man, you shouldn’t waste money like this. What if your card gets declined? Wouldn’t that be embarrassing?”
Stellar’s smile widened, her amusement growing.
Without a word, she turned, pulled out the black card that Claude gave her, and handed it to the sales associate.
“Charge it.”
“Of course, Miss,” the sales associate replied eagerly.
Already annoyed with Percy and Yvonne’s earlier arrogance, the sales associate now beamed at Stellar, their true VIP customer. With a subtle, disdainful glance at Percy and Yvonne, she respectfully accepted the black card and moved to process the payment.
The card machine beeped with a successful transaction, the sound cutting through the room like a slap landing squarely on Percy and Yvonne’s faces.
“Congratulations, Miss. Your payment has been processed successfully. Your items are packed and ready. Would

“I’ll take them,” Stellar replied, grabbing the bags without sparing them another glance. She turned and walked

out
Yvonne felt the weight of the surrounding stares–store clerks and customers alike casting glances filled with disdain and ridicule. Her face tumed crimson as she fidgeted under their gaze, unable to bear the humiliation for even a second longer.
Meanwhile, Percy was consumed with a mix of anger and shame. Without a word, he turned on his heel and stormed out of the boutique, not bothering to wall for Yvone.
Yvonne hurried after him, forcing herself to maintain a pleasant tone despite her Seething frustration.
“Percy, don’t let her get to you. She’s just lost her way for now. Getting angry over her isn’t worth it. What really matters is tomorrow’s project. As long as we work together, we can win back the partnership with the Riverfront Corporation. You promised to help me with the negotiation
If it weren’t for this major deal, Yvonne wouldn’t have lowered herself like this.
“Honestly, what does the Riverfront Corporation’s issue even have to do with me?” she thought.
Percy’s expression softened slightly at her words, pulling him out of his rage.
Exactly.
So, what if Stellar had money now? A man might spend on her because of her looks, but she’d only ever be a plaything. Whatever she received was bound to be limited.
Without him, she’d never gain access to true high society of understand what real power and influence looked like As long as he closed this deal, securing half the profits and ensuring the company’s IPO success, he’d have access to any woman he wanted. Why would he care about her?
By then, she’d come crawling back to him, begging at his feet.
“Enough, let’s call it a day. I’ll take you home,” Percy said, his tone growing impatient as he addressed Yvonne.
