After all, she needed him now, so Percy didn’t bother with leasantries.
Without looking back, he got into the car.
Yvonne, still fuming over his earlier attitude, swallowed her anger for the sake of the project and followed him.
On the drive back, her attention was drawn to a small angel figurine on the dashboard. The figurine held a little charm bag, its design cheerful and whimsical.
But could this possibly belong to Percy? The thought made the answer obvious.
Yvonne’s disdain was immediate.
“Why would you keep such a cheap–looking figurine in your car?
“You should have something like a gold–plated angel figurine or a rare vintage collectible–something that reflects sophistication and status.”
Percy glanced at the figurine and froze slightly.
If he remembered correctly, Stellar had gone out of her way to get it for him from a church. She earnestly told him to keep it in the car to ensure his safety.
For a moment, his mind wandered, recalling Stellar’s bright, joyful expression at the time–full of care, love, and enthusiasm.
But now, all of it was gone.
A strange emptiness settled in his chest.
Meanwhile, Yvonne kept prattling on beside him.
“Seriously? You’re the CEO of Moore Enterprises. If anyone saw this, they’d laugh at you.”
Feeling irritated, Percy frowned. “If you don’t like it, then throw it out!”
Yvonne’s eyes lit up at his words.
Without hesitation, she picked up the figurine, rolled down the window, and hurled it forcefully into a roadside trash bin.
“Stellar, no matter how much effort you put in, it doesn’t matter. The one by Percy’s side now is me,” Yvonne thought.
Stellar carried her shopping bags home.
“Miss, you’re back,” Mary greeted her warmly, quickly stepping forward to take the bags. “Let me bring these to your room for you.
“Wait a moment.” Stellar pulled out two gift boxes, her smile bright as she looked at Mary. “Mary, these two are for you.
One was a tea set. Stellar noticed Mary’s habit of drinking tea and her impressive tea–making skills. The other was a delicate wooden hairpin, intricately carved. She also observed that Mary often wore her hair up, though this particular item wasn’t something Stellar bought herself.

“This…” Mary’s face lit up with surprise, and she waved her hands. “Miss, I can’t accept this.”
“Mary, you’ve taken such wonderful care of me all this time. I haven’t had the chance to thank you properly. If you don’t let me give you these, I’ll feel terribly guilty.”
“There’s no need to feel guilty, Miss. Your uncle pays me a generous salary. I’m not working for free,” Mary replied earnestly.
“That’s
‘s my uncle’s money, but this is a token of my gratitude–they’re two different things. Consider it my way of honoring an elder,” Stellar said, her bright eyes twinkling as she pouted slightly.
“Or… are you saying you don’t like me? Is that why you won’t accept my gifts?”
Mary’s heart melted instantly. “Of course not! I’ll take them–your thoughtfulness means everything to me.”
A sly smile flashed across Stellar’s face, her mischievous expression resembling a clever little fox.
She had long grown accustomed to living simply and never treated people as mere servants.
Here, Mary was her only companion, the one person who truly cared for her.
To Stellar, Mary was like family, and she was determined to ensure their days together would be filled with warmth and joy.
Mary sighed with mock exasperation, but her gaze softened, her fondness for Stellar evident.

Later, Stellar insisted on helping Mary prepare dinner.
