Chapter 33
Percy snapped out of his thoughts, but his mind kept replaying the Image of Stellar standing her ground, confident and unyielding.
His eyes narrowed slightly.
Was she trying to destroy what she couldn’t have?
Or was this just another way to get his attention?
Did she really think she was that important?
The thought made him scoff.
With a smirk, he wrapped an arm around Yvonne’s waist and strode up to Stellar, arrogance radiating from his
every step.
“Stellar, have you had enough of this little game of playing hard to get? No matter how much you try to fight me for this project or force your presence in front of me, I won’t spare you a second glance. I already have Yvonne. All your efforts are pointless.”
He deliberately provoked her, waiting to see some sign of hort, resentment, or even jealousy in her eyes.
But Stellar merely cast him an indifferent glance before responding in a tone devoid of emotion.
“Is that so? Then I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and a house full of kids.”
She couldn’t even be bothered to argue. Her voice was calm, dismissive.
Just as she finished speaking, a taxi pulled up.
Without sparing them another look, she stepped past them and reached for the door.
Her complete disregard stung Percy in a way he hadn’t expected.
His jaw tightened, and his voice rose sharply. “Stellar! Dont tell me you actually think I can’t live without you! You have no idea how much better my life has been since I got rid of you.”
Stellar’s fingers were already on the door handle when she beard that.
She turned slightly and flashed him a smile–breathtaking, effortless, utterly unfazed.
“I’m happy for you, Mr. Moore. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to attend your engagement party right on time.”
With that, she got into the taxi, shut the door, and was gone in one fluid motion.
The car pulled away, disappearing into the evening traffic.
Percy’s expression darkened, his jaw clenching as a sudden, inexplicable frustration surged within him.
The moment she left, he let go of Yvonne, shoving her aside without a second thought.
Did she really not care? Or was she just putting on an act?
No matter the answer, he had been humiliated today.
And it was all Yvonne’s fault.
Irritated beyond measure, he no longer had the patience to keep up the pretense.

Ignoring Yvonne’s complaints and protests, he turned on his heel and stormed away, leaving her standing there fuming.
Yvonne nearly lost her balance in fury, stomping her foot in frustration.
Seeing that Percy was really about to leave, she quickly chased after him and slipped into the car beside him.
But now, for the sake of securing the project, she had to swallow her anger and lower her tone.
“Percy, what are we going to do about the project? You have to find a way. We can’t let Stellar get the upper hand…
If she failed, how would she ever explain this to her father?
Her voice continued to buzz relentlessly in his ear, an endless stream of complaints and worries.
Percy yanked at his tie, loosening it in an attempt to breathe, but the tightness in his chest refused to ease. A dull, pounding pain started in his head, spreading fast.
At first, he thought it was just from anger.
But soon, he realized something was wrong,
This sensation… it wasn’t just frustration.
It was that damn migraine again.
A condition he’d had since childhood–primary headaches, the doctors had called it. Chronic but untreatable. Still, he hadn’t had an episode in years.
He thought he was over it.
So why the hell was it happening now?
“Percy, are you even listening to me?”
Yvonne’s voice droned on, pushing him to his limit.
“Shut up.”
With a sudden, violent motion, Percy slammed the brakes, bringing the car to an abrupt halt by the side of the road.
The sudden stop jolted Yvonne forward.
She bit her tongue in the process, gasping in pain as her face turned pale.
But Percy didn’t spare her a glance.
Fighting through the sharp, throbbing pain in his skull, his mind worked fast.
He needed painkillers–he always did when this happened.
His family doctor, Raymond Jones, had handled his prescriptions before.
Without wasting another second, he pulled out his phone and dialed.
Where are the painkillers I used to take?”
