Chapter 43
He pushed a stack of documents across the desk.
“Take these and go over them as soon as possible. Once you officially join the team, don’t slow everyone down.”
Stellar knew he was all bark and no bite.
A smile tugged at her lips as she obediently took the files.
“Professor, I’ll give it my all. I won’t embarrass you.”
Meanwhile, Yvonne was lounging at home, sipping afternoon tea, waiting for good news from the school.
As long as Stellar failed the exam and couldn’t get into Victor’s project team, the partnership with Riverfront Corporation would fall through.
That would give the Harlow and Moore families a greater advantage.
More importantly, she could finally give her father a satisfactory answer and she wouldn’t have to put up with Percy anymore.
Just as she was relishing the thought of Stellar’s downfall, her phone rang.
Seeing Camille’s name on the screen, Yvonne’s eyes lit up.
A smirk curled on her lips as she answered.
“So? What took you so long to call-”
Before she could finish, Camille cut her off in a hushed voice.
“I failed. Stellar passed the exam. She’s already been accepted into the research team.”
The words hit like a thunderclap.
Yvonne’s expression twisted.
She shot to her feet, fury surging through her as she flung the teacup in her hand.
A sharp crack echoed through the room.
The porcelain shattered into countless pieces–just like her mood.
“Say that again!”
Her voice rose in a furious snarl.
“You useless idiot! What the hell did I arrange all this for? And this is the result?”
“But you never told me she was actually that good! You think I didn’t try to sabotage her? She just bulldozed right through it. What was I supposed to do?”
Carnille was just as furious.
She was exposed for cheating, and now her academic career was in ruins, yet this woman still had the audacity to blame her.
She was the one who withheld the truth from the start, using Camille as a pawn.

Chapter 43
“I’ve had enough!”
Yvonne rubbed her temples, trying to suppress her growing frustration before snapping another order.
“I don’t care how you do it keep making things difficult for Stellar. Even if she’s in the research team now, I
want her out.”
Camille let out a bitter laugh, her anger boiling over.
“My academic career is already ruined! I couldn’t even get into the team myself. How the hell am I supposed to go after her?”
She didn’t waste any more time and got straight to the point.
“You promised me one hundred thousand dollars. Transferit now.”
If it weren’t for her own vanity, she wouldn’t have let herself be manipulated like this.
But now that she had lost everything, she wasn’t about to walk away empty–handed.
“And since my future is screwed because of this, you need to compensate me. At least another two hundred thousand dollars.”
She went all in, demanding an outrageous sum.
“Two hundred thousand dollars?!”
Yvonne nearly lost it, her scalp tingling with rage.
“Are you out of your mind? The money I promised was for getting the job done. Not only did you fail, but you were completely useless. You want money? Try again in your next life!”
With that, she hung up without hesitation.
If Camille still had any use, Yvonne might have strung her along with false promises.
But now?
She was worthless.
Keeping her around was pointless.
With that thought, Yvonne blocked Camille’s number without hesitation.
Then, fuming, she stormed back to her room and slammed the door shut.
She was losing her mind!
After leaving Percy, Stellar hadn’t fallen into ruin like she expected.
Instead, she was climbing higher and higher.
How could Yvonne possibly accept that?
No.
She had to come up with a plan.
She had crushed Stellar before–there was no reason eh
couldn’t do it again.
A cold smirk curled on her lips as she picked up her phone, scrolled through her contacts, and dialed a number.
