Chapter 44
Stellar had no idea what Yvonne was plotting
But even if she did, she would deal with it as it came.
Joining the research team made all the effort of the past two weeks worth it.
As she stepped out of the school in high spirits, her phone suddenly rang.
It was a number she hadn’t seen in a while.
“Miss Rivers, if I don’t call you first, are you never going to reach out to me? Heartless little thing.”
A woman’s lazy yet slightly aggrieved voice came through the speaker.
It was her best friend, Suzy Walsh.
The one person who, despite all the rumors and gossip, stuck by her side these past two years.
The only one who genuinely cared about her and put her feelings first.
But a while ago, they had argued over Percy, and things had been tense ever since.
Between the cold war and Stellar’s packed schedule, she had completely forgotten to reach out.
Now, hearing Suzy’s voice again, a softness crept into her expression.
“Where are you? I’ll come find you.
“That’s more like it.”
Suzy hung up and sent her an address.
Stellar followed it to an upscale lounge called Dusk.
The place had everything entertainment rooms, a bar, live music, pool tables, even a swimming area.
More importantly, it had a strict privacy policy, ensuring that guest information remained completely confidential.
Stellar quickly found the designated private room.
The moment she opened the door, a tall, elegant woman with striking confidence came into view.
Suzy had already opened a bottle of wine, waiting for her arrival.
Seeing Stellar step in, she raised a brow.
“Finally done sulking, huh? Decided I’m worth seeing again?”
Previously, their fight over Percy was a heated one.
Suzy had always dismissed men as insignificant, but she wasn’t the kind of friend who would resent someone for finding happiness.
But Percy was different.
Suzy had been by Stellar’s side long enough to know everything about their relationship.
She had warned her countless times that Percy was nothing but a scumbag

His arrogant, condescending attitude disgusted her, and she urged Stellar to leave him more than once.
The last time, Percy overheard their conversation.
His expression turned cold as he issued an ultimatum either cut ties with Suzy or forget about coming back to him.
Of course, Stellar refused.
Without a second thought, Percy walked away, leaving her behind.
Suzy was furious too, thinking that Stellar had hesitated.
After a heated argument, they stopped seeing each other for a while.
Looking back now, Stellar realized just how foolish she had been.
The person closest to her saw right through Percy, yet she was the only one naive enough to keep holding on.
“Sorry about that… but I’ve got good news for you.”
A bright smile spread across her face.
“I broke up with Percy.”
“You’re serious?”
Suzy shot to her feet, her sharp, bright eyes practically glowing.
But just as quickly, her excitement faded.
With a scoff, she dropped back into her seat.
“Again? How long will it last this time?”
Stellar chuckled helplessly.
It was a fair question.
Stellar and Percy had played this breakup game too many times, and every time, she was back
But this time… she wasn’t going back.
“It’s real. We’ve been broken up for over a month now.”
Suzy was speechless.
the one to cave and go
After confirming the full story, Suzy was convinced that Stellar had truly broken up with that scumbag.
Without hesitation, she jumped up from her seat, practically bursting with excitement.
“Yes! Finally!”
She raised her glass high, grinning from ear to ear.
“Congratulations on ditching that loser! Tonight, I’m opening the most expensive bottle of wine they have. My treat no going home until we’re drunk!”
Chapter 44
It was clear she was genuinely thrilled.
“Take it easy,” Stellar chuckled. “You’re a celebrity, remember? Shouldn’t you at least try to maintain your image? Don’t you have a shoot or something tomorrow?”
She made a half–hearted attempt to stop her, but in the end, she still drank several glasses with her.
Suzy had two reasons for reaching out tonight.
First, it had been way too long, and she really missed Stellar.
Second, she was about to start filming again, and who knew when they’d get another chance to meet?
They had never gone this long without talking before.
