Chapter 45
This time, Suzy was set to star in a major production called Whispers of Ivory and Shadow.”
For some reason, when Stellar first heard the title, it felt oddly familiar.
But she didn’t think much of it.
Midway through the evening, she stepped out to use the restroom.
On her way back, she unexpectedly ran into Xavier.
Unlike Percy’s other friends, who always looked down on her with disdain, was different.
He always treated her with respect, never mocking or belittling her like the rest.
So, when she caught him staring, she remained calm and greeted him politely.
To her surprise, he blocked her path, hesitating as if he had something to say.
She frowned slightly. “Do you need something?”
“You really broke up with Percy?” Xavier asked
She didn’t deny it. “Yeah.”
He studied her face for a long moment, then finally spoke again.
“Percy’s planning to sue you. He says he’s going to drag your name through the mud.”
Stellar didn’t even flinch.
“Let him.”
Her voice was indifferent, completely unfazed.
She had long since seen him for who he truly was.
A man like that wasn’t worth her time or emotions anymore.
Xavier held her gaze for a moment, then cautiously added, “If you want, I can help you countersue for defamation. You deserve justice.”
That caught her off guard.
No matter what, he was still part of Percy’s circle.
She hadn’t expected him to offer to go against his own friend.
But she wasn’t interested.
“There’s no need.” Her tone remained polite, but she made it clear she wanted distance.
She didn’t know why Xavier was suddenly stepping in, and she wasn’t the type to take advantage of others.
“Thanks for the offer, but I won’t have anything to do with him anymore. And since we don’t really know each other that well, let’s keep it that way.”
With that, she turned and walked away without hesitation.
Not once did she look back

Xavier watched as Stellar walked away, a hint of disappointment flickering in his eyes.

He stood frozen for a moment, unable to look away from her retreating
Just as he turned to leave, he realized he wasn’t alone.

Standing behind him were Percy and Chris.
Xavier had no idea how long they had been there, but judging from Percy’s dark expression, he saw him talking to
Stellar.
“Wasn’t that Stellar just now?”
Chris stepped forward curiously. “What were you two talking about?
Xavier didn’t answer.
“What’s with the attitude?”
Chris‘ mood soured instantly at his silence.
This guy always had the same deadpan expression.
He was just a broke nobody acting all high and mighty.
“I heard you even refused to help Percy sue that woman,” Chris sneered, folding his arms as he looked down at him. “Is that true?”
Xavier didn’t hesitate. “Yes,”
Chris let out a mocking laugh.
“Look at you, acting like you’ve got a backbone now. Don’t forget, it was Percy who gave you a chance when you had nothing.
“Without him, you wouldn’t be where you are today. And now that you’ve made a name for yourself, you think you can just turn your back on him?”
His words dripped with disdain, painting Percy as some kind of benefactor.
But the truth was, Xavier had built his career as a top lawyer through his own hard work.
Every case he won was because of his own skill and determination, not because of Percy.
Still, he didn’t argue.
His expression remained cold and indifferent as he looked at Chris.
“I’m not just turning down Percy’s lawsuit, I’m also refusing to take the case of the girl you got pregnant. The one who didn’t survive the abortion, leaving her family demanding justice.”
