Chapter 62
“Mom, what are you doing here? I’m heading out soon. Can we talk about this another time?”
Percy assumed she was here to persuade him again to be nicer to Yvonne.
He was beyond tired of hearing it.
But to his surprise, Margaret’s expression was cold and stem.
“Percy, I need you to answer something honestly.”
“What is it?”
Percy frowned, sensing something unusual.
Margaret’s voice sharpened.
“Did
you secretly give Stellar a huge sum of money when you broke up?”
“What?”
For a second, Percy wondered if he’d misheard.
“Don’t play dumb with me!”
Margaret tossed her handbag onto the couch and sat down with a huff, arms crossed, her face full of frustration.
“Stellar is now a co–owner of Elan Atelier! Do you even know what kind of place that is? It took me forever to even hear about that private boutique.
“Every single piece they sell is handcrafted and exclusive you can’t just walk in and buy something, no matter how much money you have! And now, I can’t even get through the door!”
Percy stared at her, completely dumbfounded.
“Mom… what are you even talking about? Stellar is a co–owner? That’s impossible.”
“You’re still trying to hide it from me?”
Margaret was livid as she recounted everything that had happened at the boutique that day.
“Unless you handed her a fortune, there’s no way she could’ve bought into a place like that! She became a co owner just to rub it in my face!”
Percy’s headache pounded harder.
“Mom, I swear–I didn’t give her anything. She’s the one who ended things, and when she left, she took nothing with her. Not a single valuable, let alone money.”
As the words left his mouth, something clicked.
That day when he’d returned home after their breakup, he’d noticed that all the clothes, jewelry, and designer accessories he’d bought for her were still in the same place
She hadn’t taken anything.
He originally thought Stellar was just playing hard to get.
But now….
Chapter 62
He began to wonder if she truly wanted nothing to do with him anymore.
Had she been trying to cut ties completely?

The realization settled like a heavy weight in Percy’s chest, leaving him strangely uneasy.
“Seems like she never needed your money in the first place, Margaret scoffed, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
“Who knows which man she got her fortune from? But since she’s a co–owner now, this actually works in our favor.
“Percy, here–these are the latest exclusive releases I’ve been looking into. Tell her to send them over to me.”
She tossed a catalog onto the table, speaking as if it were the most natural request in the world.
Percy stared at his mother in disbelief.
“You want me to ask her for them?”
“And why no12
Do you have any idea how much money you’ve spent on that girl over the years?
“Now that she’s a boss, she should be repaying you. Those limited–edition pieces are impossible to get, but if she hands them over, the other women in my circle will be green with envy.”
The thought sent a rush of excitement through her.
She knew things between Percy and Stellar had ended on bad terms.
But so what?
That was only because her son was engaged now and had cast Stellar aside.
If Stellar was truly a co–owner at Elan Atelier, then it didn’t matter–if she wasn’t worthy of being Percy’s wife, she could still be his kept woman.
And if that happened, Margaret wouldn’t mind turning a blind eye.
After all, in high society, which wealthy heir didn’t have a mistress or two on the side?
If Yvonne dared to throw a fit over it, Margaret had plenty of ways to handle her.
Once she got her hands on those exclusive pieces, she’d invite all her closest friends over–what better way to show off than to flaunt something even they couldn’t get their hands on?
But as she spoke, Percy found himself momentarily at a loss for words.
What was he supposed to say? That Stellar had barely spent any of his money to begin with?
No, that wasn’t the point.
Even if she hadn’t taken his money, he was the one to give her the opportunity to join Moore Enterprises, study finance, and gain hands–on experience in the industry.
Wasn’t all the knowledge she gained and the experience she built over the past two years because of him?
