Chapter 66
“Sir, that’s enough!”
This time, even the leading officer lost his patience.
“I’m not lying!”
Percy was on the verge of exploding.
He was telling the truth, so why wouldn’t anyone believe him?
“Wait! The security footage! The cameras can prove I’m telling the truth!”
It was as if he had grabbed onto his last lifeline.
But before he could feel any relief, the store manager immediately spoke up.
“Apologies, sir. Our boutique offers private, custom services. To protect our clients‘ privacy, we don’t have surveillance cameras inside. However-”
At that, the manager suddenly shifted, adopting a righteous and indignant expression.
He jabbed a finger at Percy and declared, “I saw it with my own eyes–this man was the one who attacked first!”
The words barely fell when Percy’s face twisted in fury, his eyes nearly bloodshot.
“Bastards! You’re all in on this! You’re conspiring against me!”
He was so enraged he nearly lunged at the manager.
But before he could act, the leading officer’s expression darkened,
Stepping forward swiftly, he grabbed Percy and forcefully restrained him, snapping a pair of handcuffs around his
wrists.
“Sir, that’s enough!”
At the same time…
“Mary, are you alright? Let me help you up.”
Stellar stepped forward at just the right moment, crouching beside Mary to assist her.
Mary slowly struggled to her feet, her face etched with sorrow.
“Miss Stellar, I failed to protect you… and the hairpin you gave me, worth millions, was broken by that man. I’m so sorry!”
By the time Mary reached the last part, her voice was heavy with genuine sorrow.
The leading officer looked at the two women, clearly the victims in this situation, then shifted his gaze to the arrogant and unruly Percy.
His decision was made.
“Sir, you’ll need to come with us to the station.”
Percy’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Do you even know who im? You dare arrest me?!”
“I don’t care who you are. Provoking trouble, and damaging someone else’s property are criminal offenses. You

will be held accountable.”
With that, the leading officer signaled to the two officers behind him.
Without hesitation, they stepped forward, one on each side, ignoring Percy’s furious struggle as they restrained him and hauled him toward the police car.
In broad daylight, the entire scene played out in front of a crowd of onlookers.
Some passersby even pulled out their phones, capturing the moment on video.
The leading officer then turned his attention back to Stellar and the others.
“You three need to come with us as well. Since a high–value item was damaged, we’ll need your statements.”
“No problem,” Stellar agreed without hesitation.
After all, Percy was the one to start the whole mess.
They had nothing to feel guilty about.
At the station, news of Percy’s arrest quickly reached his legal team, and his lawyer arrived in a hurry.
Not long after, the leading officer returned and informed Stellar that Percy’s lawyer had requested a meeting, clearly intending to settle things privately.
Without a second thought, Stellar stood up and flatly refused.
“There’s no need for a meeting. He hurt someone I deeply respect. Mary is like family to me. I will never accept a private settlement. Please proceed according to the law and ensure he is punished accordingly.”
If she had once considered letting things go peacefully, that thought was long gone.
Percy had repeatedly crossed the line, and she saw no reason to show him any mercy.
Beside her, Mary felt a lump rise in her throat, her eyes misting over with emotion.
Stellar was such a wonderful girl.
Once Stellar accepted someone as her own, she would protect them fiercely, shielding them under her wings like an angel.
Anyone who failed to cherish her deserved whatever came to them.
The leading officer gave Stellar an approving nod.
“Under the ruling, he will be required to compensate you for the value of the broken hairpin–based on market estimates, that’s three million dollars.
“Additionally, he will be detained for fifteen days and fined one hundred dollars. Does that sound acceptable to you?”
Hearing the verdict, Stellar nearly laughed.
A one–hundred–dollar fine?
Honestly, that would probably sting Percy more than losing three million dollars.
