Chapter 70
Wanting to maintain a polished image in front of Percy’s friends, Yvonne took extra care with her appearance.
She
applied flawless makeup, chose an elegant outfit, and carried herself with the perfect blend of grace and sophistication,
“Apologies for being late,” she said with a warm smile, addressing the group.
“Good evening, Miss Harlow,” someone greeted politely.
“Miss Harlow? What are you talking about? She’s going to be the future Mrs. Moore! We should start calling her properly.”
“Oh, right! Good evening, Mrs. Moore! Sorry for the trouble”
Percy’s friends were quick to adapt, playing their roles well
Yvonne gave a modest nod, satisfied with their respect..
But the moment the sound of the woman footsteps reached Percy’s drunken ears, his hazy eyes suddenly snapped
open.
Through his blurred vision, he saw a graceful figure approaching, her voice soft and patient.
“Percy, let’s go home.”

A familiar and comforting fragrance surrounded him, and without thinking, he assumed it was Stellar who come to pick him up.
A slow grin spread across his lips.
An overwhelming sense of triumph and relief washed over him.
No matter how cruel her words had been, she still came back for him just like before.
He remembered how she used to take care of him every time he got drunk–wiping his face, changing his clothes, making sure he was comfortable.
Feeling victorious, he allowed himself to lean into her support, letting her guide him out of the lounge.
Most of his weight pressed against Yvonne, who, at first, maintained a dignified posture in front of the others.
But by the time they made it outside, sweat beaded on her forehead.
“Why the hell are you so heavy…” she muttered under her breath, struggling under his weight.
As she stumbled, her high heel caught on his shoe, and she nearly lost her balance.
“Ugh-”
A sharp pain shot through his foot, snapping him out of his drunken daze for a brief moment.
Percy instinctively turned his head to look at the woman beside him.
The person he had imagined–his Stellar–was gon
gone.
Instead, he found himself staring at Yvonne’s overly made–up face, thick with perfume and powder.
It was as if a beautiful dream had been ruthlessly shattered.

Percy’s expression darkened instantly.
In a flash, he shoved Yvonne away, his voice laced with fury
“You worthless woman! Who gave you the right to pretend to be her?”
Of course.
How could he have been so foolish?
Stellar would never be so clumsy and hurt him like that.
Thrown off balance, Yvonne staggered backward, nearly falling.
And to make matters worse, he just insulted her.
Her
rage flared as she snapped her head up to glare at him.
“Percy Moore, what the hell is wrong with you?!”
“I don’t need you meddling in my business,” he spat, his expression twisted with disgust.
With that, he turned and stumbled forward, his drunken steps unsteady, swaying dangerously as he tried to walk
away.
Yvonne was still fuming from his earlier shove.

Without thinking, she stormed forward and shoved him hard from behind.
Percy, already struggling to stay upright, lost his balance entirely.
With a loud thud, he crashed onto the pavement, his limbs sprawled awkwardly.
His eyes fluttered shut as if he had blacked out on the spot,
“You bastard! I went through all this trouble to show up looking perfect, got drenched in sweat, and now I reek of booze–yet I didn’t even complain! And you dare insult me?“”
Still furious, she stepped forward and landed two swift kicks on his side, just to vent her frustration.
Then, without sparing him another glance, she grabbed her purse and stormed off, leaving him sprawled motionless on the ground.
She didn’t care if he made it through the night or not.
The next morning, Percy was jolted awake by a chorus of murmuring voices.
“Is he dead? Should we call the police?”
“Probably just some drunk.”
“He’s dressed all fancy but look at the state of him–what mess.”
A sharp headache throbbed through his skull, the remnants of last night’s hangover pounding behind his eyes.
His brows furrowed as he forced himself to wake up.

When he finally managed to crack his eyes open, he was met with the sight of a group of strangers standing around him.
Startled, he snapped into full awareness only to realize he was sprawled out in a roadside flower bed.
Onlookers were gathered, whispering and pointing at him, amusement flickering in their expressions.
His face burned with humiliation.
Anger surged through him in an instant:
“Get the hell away from me!”
The crowd scattered at his outburst, leaving him to his misery.
Gritting his teeth, Percy scrambled to his feet, shaking off the dirt and dried leaves clinging to his clothes.
Then he looked down and realized that his expensive watch was gone.
His waller was missing, and even his damn belt had been stolen.
