Chapter 75
“Is this how the rich trample over ordinary people? Picking fights, assaulting the elderly, and passing out drunk in public–no dignity, no class, no morals. Absolute scum of society. A disgrace. Companies like his shouldn’t even be allowed to go public!”
“Blacklist him! I can’t even stand to look at this mess anymore.”
Scrolling down, the next trending headline was even worse–Moore Enterprises‘ stock had plummeted.
“Look at the disaster you’ve caused!”
William seethed, his face red with fury as he slammed his hand against the desk.
“You’ve ignited public outrage! While I’ve been working around the clock to clean up your mess, you have the nerve to talk about calling off the engagement?!”
His voice thundered through the office, his rage barely contained.
“Do you see it now? If you don’t go through with the Harlow engagement, our entire family is finished!
“Effective immediately, we’re announcing the engagement party. I’ve already instructed PR to start damage control, and you-”
His eyes burned with disappointment as he glared at his son.
“You need to wake up and get your priorities straight. You’re talking about some ridiculous idea of love, but let me tell you, Percy–I am done with your nonsense. You have no idea how deeply you’ve disappointed me!”
His father’s words hit him like a fist to the skull.
Another sharp, piercing headache shot through Percy’s temple.
So, this was it?
For the sake of the family, he had no choice but to marry Yvonne?
They didn’t even care about what he wanted?
William’s voice cut through his thoughts.
“And one more thing. Call Yvonne and have her come over for dinner tonight. It’s your mother’s birthday, and you’ll use the opportunity to strengthen your relationship.
His father’s tone left no room for argument.
“Get your act together, Percy. If you screw this up again, not even I will be able to save you.”
Percy clenched his jaw so tightly it hurt.
His entire body was tense, trapped between rage and humillation.
But in the end, he had no choice but to leave the office in silence.
As he stepped into the elevator, his mind wandered to Stellar.
To the way she had sat across from that man, her voice soft as they spoke in hushed tones.
Was there really no way for them anymore?
Once he reached the car, he pulled out his phone and called Yvonne.

The line rang for a few seconds–then abruptly went dead.
That bitch.
“Unbelievable!” Percy snarled, cursing under his breath.
Grinding his teeth, he forced down his frustration and called again.
This time, it rang for over fifty seconds.,
Just before the call was about to disconnect, Yvonne finally picked up–slowly, deliberately.
“Well, well, Mr. Moore. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Her mocking tone dripped through the receiver.
Percy’s jaw tightened.
His cheek twitched, but he forced himself to keep his temper in check.
“It’s my mother’s birthday tonight. You’re coming home with me for dinner.”
Yvonne was still fuming from their last fallout, but hearing Percy personally invite her caught her off guard.
She knew exactly how arrogant this man was.
For him to reach out first? That was as good as an admission of defeat.
If this had been before, she would’ve made him beg, dragging it out until he properly apologized before she even considered forgiving him.
But right now, she still needed his cooperation for the project.
Weighing her options, she decided to give him an easy way out.
“Fine. Come pick me up, and I’ll go.”
A long silence stretched on the other end.
“…Fine. Wait for me,” Percy finally gritted out before ending the call.
Yvonne smirked as she hung up.
Since it was Margaret’s birthday, she wasn’t about to show up looking anything less than perfect.
She took her time getting ready, curling her hair into soft waves and dressing in an outfit dripping with elegance and wealth.
With no major projects lined up recently, her stylist had been absent, which meant she had full control over her wardrobe.
She had to admit–she liked the freedom.
Before heading out, she carefully selected a gift, ensuring was just extravagant enough to make an impression. After all, with the wedding approaching, Margaret would soon be her mother–in–law. If she wanted to ensure a smooth future in the Moore family, it was only wise to get on her good side,
By the time Yvonne stepped out with the carefully chosen gift in hand, Percy’s car had just pulled up at the
entrance.

“Get in,” he said, his tone unusually patient and he even took the initiative to open the door for her.
But Yvonne wasn’t impressed.
If he was coming to pick her up, he could’ve at least put some effort into his appearance.
He didn’t have to be in a full suit, but at the very least, he could’ve looked presentable.
And where was the bouquet?
A man inviting his fiancée to dinner–wasn’t bringing flowers the bare minimum?
Suppressing an inward scoff, she lifted her chin slightly and let out a soft hum of disapproval.
“So, you’re not going to kick me out halfway this time, are you?” she asked, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
