Stellar finished her dinner, and after exchanging a brief farewell with them, Stephen left early.
When Stellar was about to pay the bill, she found out that he had already took care of it in advance.
“Your senior might seem cold at first, but he’s got a warm side. He’s actually pretty nice,” Suzy remarked, unable to resist commenting.
At the very least, he was a thousand times better than Percy that arrogant snob who looked down on people.
“Don’t say things like that next time. He has a girlfriend,” Stellar turned back, giving her a slightly embarrassed glare while reminding her not to speak carelessly.
“Oh, really? He doesn’t seem like the type who would date or know how to make a girl happy!” Suzy started to say, but then quickly contradicted herself.
“Wait, no, even someone like Percy, who pretends to be all high and mighty, managed to fool a stunning beauty like you into giving your all for him. So, a guy like this? Way easier.
“Forget it. Men are all the same. We’re better off staying fabulous on our own!”
Stellar was speechless.
It was obvious that Suzy resented Percy even more than she did.
“Alright, let’s not talk about people who ruin the mood. Let’s go for a little shopping,” Stellar said, linking arms with her and heading toward the nearby mall.
Just as they turned, an unexpected scene unfolded in a café at the corner of the street.
A heavyset man with a thick, fleshy face stood over a suited man and casually dumped a cup of coffee over his head.
“Who do you think you are? Without Mr. Moore, you think you have the right to negotiate with me? Don’t forget, without his backing, you’d still be rotting in some godforsaken corner, completely irrelevant!”
The sharp insults cut through the air, jarring to the ears.
And the man in the suit wasn’t just anyone–he was someone she knew.
Xavier.
Stellar paused for a moment, her gaze fixed in that direction, momentarily lost in thought.
“What’s wrong? Someone you know?”
Suzy noticed something was off and tilted her head, asking curiously.
Stellar nodded, remembering how Xavier had offered to help her countersue Percy Moore.
Was he being targeted by clients because he offended Percy because of her?
She hesitated for a moment. “I’ll go take a look.”
Suzy’s curiosity was instantly piqued, and she followed along.
Outside the café, on one of the chairs-
“Mr. Reed, I’m withdrawing my lawsuit. Hand over the retainer fee. With that money, do you really think I can’t

find a better lawyer? And you actually dare to refuse? Do you think I’m giving you a choice?”
The fat man tossed aside his empty coffee cup, towering over Xavier with an air of arrogance.
Xavier remained composed, taking a napkin and calmly wiping the coffee stains off his cheek.
Then, in an even tone, he explained, “Mr. Cooke, you have the right to withdraw your case, but according to the agreement, I’ve already put in the work. Since you’re backing out for personal reasons, only a portion of the fee can be refunded.”
“You greedy little pretty boy! Trying to pocket my one hundred thousand dollars, huh? Xavier Reed, let me warn you know your place. Do you really think you’re some kind of hotshot lawyer?
“Let me tell you, no one in this industry wants to work with you anymore. Cross me again, and I’ll make sure you can’t practice law anywhere!”
Brian Cooke sneered, his words laced with threats.
Xavier hadn’t even responded yet when, suddenly, a crisp, clear voice rang out from behind.
“I don’t believe you.”
Xavier stiffened at the familiar voice.
He turned his head and saw Stellar approaching.
The woman’s profile was delicate and striking, her voice steady as she spoke.
