Chapter 19
Dillon walked in, his cold gaze locking onto Seth, his sharp eyes seeming to probe into his
innermost thoughts.
It seemed Dillon and Timothy were not going to let him off easily.
Seth sat down on the couch, took a sip of coffee, and resumed his usual calm demeanor. However, the mockery in his eyes made Dillon uncomfortable.
Dillon’s lips were pressed tightly together, and his face looked slightly darker.
Seeing this, Seth seemed to enjoy it even more. “Don’t you have the medical records I gave you? Are you blind, or have you suddenly become illiterate?”
Hearing his sharp and sarcastic words, Timothy rolled up his sleeves, ready to punch him.
Dillon held him back. He could tell that Seth really didn’t like them. Whether Estelle was truly
dead or not, he needed to get to the bottom of the truth.
‘According to the data I received on Estelle’s health, she’s fine. She doesn’t have stomach
problems.”
“Who knows where that report came from? Mr. Waverly, if you truly cared about Estelle, you should have seen she wasn’t doing well,” Seth said.
Then, he disdainfully glanced at Timothy. “And as for this gentleman, I think you should check again.”
Timothy immediately rolled his eyes. “Seth, Estelle was one of the Sawfords. We all go for physical exams every year. Do you think you can fool me?”
He hadn’t finished his sentence when Seth’s face grew even darker.
Dillon noticed his expression, and something strange flashed in his mind.
Unfortunately, it passed too quickly for him to catch.
Seth smiled again.
“If you truly cared for Estelle, you should know she’s never participated in the Sawford family’s health checkups. As for that so–called report, who knows where it came from?”
Timothy’s and Dillon’s expressions turned serious.
“Impossible!” Timothy immediately rebutted.
Although he disliked Estelle, the Sawford family was very concerned about the tragedy that occurred years ago, so everyone had to participate in physical exams. If Estelle hadn’t gone, how could there be a medical report?
Dillon’s eyes darkened further as he observed Seth more closely.
Indeed, Estelle hadn’t gone for any checkups. Not only did she skip the Sawford family’s checkup, but she hadn’t even attended any of the Waverly family’s checkups, either.
Yet, her medical report had appeared.
Noticing Dillon’s silence, Timothy nudged him. “Dillon, what are you thinking?”
Dillon quickly recovered. “It’s nothing.”
He looked at Seth again and requested, “Estelle and I are not fully divorced yet. She’s still Mrs. Waverly. Mr. Lancaster, please hand her over.”
Seth pointed to the floor. “I can’t hand her over. If you really want to see her, go to hell to find
her.”
With that, he gestured toward the door, silently giving the order for them to leave.
It was the first time for Timothy to be treated with such disrespect, and feeling embarrassed,
he was the first to leave.
Before Dillon left, he looked back several times at the apartment. But in the end, he left without a second thought.
Once everyone had gone, Seth wiped his face, then let out another cold laugh. “Now that she’s dead, are you regretting it? What good is regret now?”
Outside the apartment building, Timothy looked back at Dillon, who had been silent. He was full of doubt. “Do you really believe that Estelle is dead?”
A sharp pain shot through Dillon’s heart again when he heard Timothy’s words. He glanced at Timothy, then looked up at the window of Seth’s apartment, which was lit.
He smiled faintly. “Whether it’s true or not, we’ll find out soon enough.”
In the past, Estelle had sold her misery more than once. He believed this was just another one of her schemes. She loved him so much and was greedy for the Waverly family’s wealth. How could she be dead?
Timothy nodded in agreement. He was going to find that troublemaker Estelle and have her kicked out of the family!
