Chapter 22
“Find her,” Dillon muttered before getting into the car and leaving.
At Waverly Group, Alison appeared at the door to the CEO’s office, holding a book. She knocked lightly before quickly adjusting her outfit.
Today, she wore a deep red V–neck dress that not only highlighted her perfect figure and made her look incredibly sexy but was also the kind of outfit Estelle used to like. She had to completely erase that vile Estelle from Dillon’s mind today. From now on, Dillon would only think of her and love her.
As the door opened, Alison entered with a soft, sweet smile.
“Dillon,” she said softly.
Dillon, who had been facing the window, turned around. His eyes lit up as he stepped forward and pulled her into his arms.
“Elle, you’re back,” he said with warmth.
Alison froze for a moment, then smiled and hugged him back.
“Yes, I’m here,” she replied.
Dillon’s expression suddenly grew cold. He immediately pushed Alison away and looked at her with an unreadable face.
“What are you doing here?” he asked sharply.
Alison’s smile instantly faltered.
She couldn’t help but wonder what it meant. Just moments ago, he had called her “Al” with such affection, and now his tone had shifted.
Then, it hit her. He wasn’t actually calling her. He had been calling “Elle“, a name that sounded just like her own nickname, “Al“.
Alison’s eyes reddened, and she gazed at Dillon with tear–filled eyes.
“Dillon, have you fallen for Estelle?” she asked.
Dillon frowned, looking displeased.
Alison’s heart sank, She had forgotten that Dillon didn’t like anyone prying into his private
matters.
“I’m sorry. I-” she stammered.
“Leave,” Dillon suddenly ordered.
At that moment, Dillon’s expression was undeniably cold, and staying here would only annoy him further.
Not wanting to upset him more, Alison wisely turned and left.
After heading downstairs, she made a phone call.
Later that afternoon, Timothy stormed into the office.
“What do you mean? Are we still going forward with Alison’s wedding or not? My dad said he’ll reconsider Alison’s match with you. Are you trying to ruin her?” he questioned.
Dillon stared at him coldly, then tossed a detailed report about Estelle onto the table.
“While she was at the Sawford residence, Estelle was often left hungry. Timothy, is this how you treated her?” Dillon asked sharply.
“That’s impossible!” Timothy retorted.
Due to the lingering impact of Aurora’s stomach cancer, the Sawford family had always been warm and considerate, and something like going hungry could never happen in their family.
A flash of mockery appeared in Dillon’s eyes.
“Take a good look. Estelle’s stomach issues came from being fed irregularly in the Sawford family, and she couldn’t afford treatment. All of this happened while she was with the Sawfords,” Dillon said coldly.
“H–How could this be…” Timothy stammered, staring at the data in disbelief.
No matter how much he disliked Estelle, he had never imagined starving her.
Dillon merely looked on with cold eyes.
If he was in pain, the Sawford family couldn’t be too happy, either.
At the airport, Seth hurriedly passed through the boarding gate, heading toward a group waiting for him. He was still carrying a thermal box in his hand.
“The things are secured. The Sawfords and the Waverlys both believe Estelle is truly dead. They won’t bother me anymore,” Seth reported.
A woman looked up at him with a pleased expression.
“You did well,” she said.
If Timothy were there, he would have recognized her immediately.
Chapter 22
The woman in front of him was none other than Rena Summers, the one who had treated Aurora’s illness years ago.
After Aurora passed away, Rena left the country, but she had recently returned for a short stay and was about to leave the country again today.
