After five years of hard work, Waverly Group had expanded, and the towering building next door had also been secured. However, Dillon had become even colder than he was five years
ago.
He had become like an emotionless robot, with work being his only focus. When not working, he would return to the villa where he and Estelle once lived, resting in solitude. Apart from that, he rarely visited other places.
The new assistant, Zayne Jypson, handed over an invitation. He looked at Dillon, who was engrossed in the documents without lifting his head.
“Mr. Waverly, Stellar Foundation has only been established for three years, yet they’ve made such significant progress. They didn’t send you an invitation. Why are you going?” Zayne asked, feeling puzzled.
“The founder will be attending. I need to see for myself,” Dillon replied coldly, taking the invitation and setting it aside.
Zayne wondered what Dillon meant by that. Could Dillon still be hoping for an investment opportunity in their lab?
Dillon had initially thought about investing when he learned that they were researching a special treatment for stomach cancer. However, they had firmly rejected his offer at the time. To his surprise, it seemed Dillon hadn’t given up
Dillon pursed his lips, saying nothing.
Suddenly, Zayne’s phone rang. Seeing that it was Alison calling, Zayne looked hesitantly at Dillon. “Mr. Waverly, Ms. Harrington is calling.”
“Give it to me,” Dillon said as he took the phone from Zayne.
Soon, Alison’s playful voice came through the speaker, “Dillon, my brother says he got the invitation to Stellar Foundation’s opening ceremony. Should we go together?”
“No need. I already have one,”
“Dillon declined.
Alison seemed accustomed to being rejected. After a long pause, she sighed. “Oh, so you already have one. Well, can I still come with you My brother seems to be avoiding me lately, and I’m a little scared. Dillon, you’re the only one I have left.”
Hearing Alison’s pleading tone, Dillon hesitated for a moment before agreeing.
Seeing Dillon’s quick response, Zayne opened his mouth a few times but remained silent. He couldn’t shake the feeling that Dillon and Alison’s relationship was odd. He had only joined Dillon’s company four years ago and didn’t know much about their past.

All he knew was that Dillon had abruptly called off his engagement to Allson, and yet, he still indulged her at every turn. If Dillon didn’t like her, he certainly didn’t act like it. Their
relationship was completely puzzling to Zayne.
Dillon glanced up, casting a cold look at Zayne.
Zayne immediately smiled and stepped back.
Three days later, Stellar Foundation made its first public appearance in the country and sought out partnerships. As a result, many influential figures came to meet the founder. Dillon and Timothy met up, exchanging a brief glance before quickly looking away.
Alison affectionately linked her arm with Dillon’s “Dillon, I…”

Dillon suddenly stepped back, picking up a glass of champagne to help Alison mask the awkwardness.
“Try this,” he offered.
Alison forced a smile, but her eyes darkened. Five years had passed, and he still couldn’t forget Estelle.
Just as she was about to say something, the crowd began to stir.
“Isn’t that the founder of Stellar Foundation? She’s so beautiful!” someone exclaimed.
“I feel like I’ve seen her before,” another person murmured.
Dillon, Timothy, and Alison turned toward the commotion.
In the next second, their eyes widened.
It was Estelle.
“Excuse me,” Dillon said, feeling agitated.
He pushed past the people blocking him and quickly strode forward toward Estelle.
