Feeling the intense pressure radiating from Dillon, Timothy swallowed hard.
Dillon’s icy gaze alone was enough to make his knees weak.
Dillon pulled his gaze away and said coolly, “Perhaps you should explain to me what really happened at your villa that night because what m hearing doesn’t quite match the results of my investigation.”
“I…” Timothy opened his mouth but realized he didn’t know what to say.
Alison quickly stepped forward. “Dillon, Timothy just got a little carried away after seeing Estelle. He didn’t mean what he said. I’ve already forgiven Estelle.”
Dillon looked at her thoughtfully. “Forgiven?”
She might have forgiven Estelle, but it was clear Estelle hadn’t forgiven her.
He couldn’t help but wonder if Alison had really been the victim back then.
Alison’s eyes welled up on cue. “I know you care more about Estelle now. It’s fine. Go after her. I’ll… I’ll wish you both happiness.”
“Let’s go,” Dillon said before turning to leave.
At the venue, Estelle didn’t seem too affected by the earlier interruption and quickly got back into the day’s proceedings.
Meanwhile, Dillon sat in the car, staring at Estelle as she spoke on stage.
Alison, who was seated beside him, noticed the faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Jealousy once again flared in her eyes.
She despised how that bitchy Estelle had stolen Dillon’s attention once again.
Alison quickly forced a smile. “It’s surprising that Estelle is the founder of Stellar Foundation.
I heard the founder was a talented young man, but I guess that was just a rumor.”
Dillon coldly looked up at her.
His gaze was like that of a venomous snake, causing Alison to feel a sudden surge of guilt. Perhaps I misheard.”
Timothy scoffed. “What kind of money could she possibly have? I bet she found some rich guy overseas. Dillon, don’t let her fool you.”
Dillon frowned, but he stayed silent.
Timothy mistakenly assumed Dillon agreed with him and barreled on, “Honestly, the reason she didn‘
come back for so long is probably because she was too busy enjoying herself with that man abroad.”
Dillon stroked the ring on his finger. A layer of cold, eerie chill swept over his inky eyes, but he hid his emotions so well that no one could read him.
When the car pulled up in front of the villa, Dillon didn’t get out. He simply had the driver open the door for them.
Only then did Timothy sense that something was off.
He tried to read Dillon’s expression, then said cautiously, “She definitely won’t work with us again. As for the lab collaboration, we should forget it. Ethan-”
“I have things to take care of,” Dillón cut in, rolling up the window.
The Rolls–Royce pulled away swiftly.
Back at the villa, Baxter was already waiting.
Zayne stepped forward and placed a folder on Dillon’s desk. “These are all the details on Stellar Foundation. Mrs. Waverly is indeed the founder. As for the lab, it’s currently being run by a woman named Madison Lancaster, Seth’s younger cousin.”
As Zayne gave his report, Baxter subtly edged toward the door. He thought he was about to be in trouble. That freak, Dillon, was about to explode.
To his surprise, Dillon said nothing. He simply flipped through the file at lightning speed. However, the increasingly cold temperature in the room hinted at just how foul his mood, was. Baxter raised his hand, saying, “I’ve found the information you asked for. Estelle’s stomach cancer was real. She was treated by Dr. Summers, who was also Mrs. Sawford’s attending physician back then.”
After finishing, Baxter took a cautious step back. Dillon’s gaze was terrifying, and he feared he might not make it out of there alive.
Dillon nodded lightly. “Good job.”
Then, he waved dismissively, signaling Baxter to leave.
Baxter blinked in disbelief, wondering if Dillon was really allowing him to go. Was this a dream?
