Seeing that Baxter was frightened by Dillon, Zayne couldn’t help but laugh. Ignoring Baxter’s anger, he reminded him, “Mr. Redmond, didn’t you say you had a date?”
Baxter slapped his forehead in frustration.
After hearing the news that Estelle wasn’t dead, Dillon immediately called him to investigate the authenticity of her medical records. In his panic, he completely forgot about his movie
date with his fiancée.
“I’ll excuse myself now,” Baxter said. “But if you really have feelings for Estelle, don’t be a
beast like you were before.”
With that, he made a quick exit under Dillon’s nearly murderous gaze.
Dillon turned to Zayne. “Am I really a beast?”
Zayne smiled and shook his head. “Not at all.”
Even a beast wouldn’t stoop as low as he had.
To avoid debating with Dillon, Zayne cleverly changed the subject. “It’s impressive that we’ve conquered cancer, but the cost of producing the drug is high. Not many companies can
compete with us, but I’m confident we’ll succeed.‘
“We must secure it at all costs,” Dillon stated firmly.
His
gaze
shifted to the window.
He could clearly see the hatred hidden in Estelle’s eyes. It was obvious she didn’t want anything to do with him anymore.
But since she had reappeared, he wasn’t going to let her sever their ties so easily.
As Estelle arrived at Stellar Foundation the next day, Julie walked in, wearing a serious
expression. “Mr. Waverly wants to see you.”

Estelle’s eyes quickly flashed with a trace of mockery. Could he want her to apologize to Alison again?
Julie hesitated, then cautiously suggested, “Should I tell him you’re not here?”
“Are you afraid to see me?” Dillon’s cold voice came from the doorway.
When he walked in without waiting for permission, Estelle frowned and sharply said, “Mr. Waverly, I don’t remember saying I wanted to see you.”
Dillon acted as if he hadn’t heard her. He took a seat and subtly scanned the office.
Chapter 28
The office felt cold and impersonal, which wasn’t the kind of space Estelle would’ve chosen.
Dillon quickly averted his gaze and looked back at her. “I’m here to discuss a collaboration with Ms. Sawford. I heard you turned down our company’s offer.”
Estelle scoffed and said with disdain, “Collaboration? Just because you say the word doesn’t mean I’m obligated to work with you. Who do you think you are?”
“Is that so?” Dillon asked, stepping forward.
Julie immediately stepped in to block him. “Mr. Waverly, please show some respect.”
Dillon gave her a cold, piercing glance.
Julie felt the weight of his stare, and for a moment, she feared he might just throw her out of the room. Estelle had seen the ruthlessness in him before, and it unsettled her.
She glared at him. “What do you want?”
Feeling her hostility, Dillon’s gaze grew even darker.
He took a seat without responding, placing the prepared proposal in front of her. “Do you have time at noon?”
“Dillon!” Estelle snapped. She clenched her fists, looking at him with even more rejection than before.
She didn’t understand what Dillon was trying to do, but she knew one thing for sure–she had barely survived, and she wasn’t about to let him drag her back into his world.
She took a deep breath and said, “What exactly are you trying to do, Dillon? Think about Alison. Think about your child.”
