Chapter 33
Noticing that Estelle and Madison were starting to get scared, Jonathan propped his legs up arrogantly and smirked. “So, have you two figured it out yet?”
Estelle gritted her teeth, staying silent for a long time. It seemed she had underestimated just how shameless these people could be.
Seeing this, Jonathan let out a playful whistle, just want to have a drink with Ms. Sawford
and be friends.
“Besides, aren’t you hosting an opening ceremony to seek out business partners? Now that you’ve got your partners, you can’t deliver on time. If this gets out, your reputation might be in jeopardy.”
Madison squeezed Estelle’s hand nervously. “Stella…”
Noticing Madison’s trembling, Estelle gently patted her hand. She smiled at her, trying to reassure her. “Don’t worry. Even if he doesn’t want to cooperate with us, we can still find other partners.”
Madison forced a smile.
The herbs needed for the anti–cancer drug had very high requirements, and not many suppliers could meet those needs. If they offended Jonathan now, the project wouldn’t progress smoothly.
Jonathan seemed to read Madison’s concerns and smugly tilted his head. “Ms. Sawford, I suggest you learn from the lady beside you. Offending me won’t make it easy for you to get what you want.”
Understanding the blatant threat in his words, Estelle frowned deeply. She cautiously glanced at the few suppliers standing by Jonathan’s side. It was clear they were all on his side.
Estelle smiled. “So, I only have one choice now, right? If I offend you, no one will be able to help me?”
Jonathan nodded slightly. “That’s the way it looks.”
At that moment, a younger man stood up and handed Estelle a glass of wine. “Ms. Sawford, why don’t you raise a glass to Mr. Glover?”
Estelle looked down at the glass in his hand, pursing her lips in silence for a while. Without needing to guess, she knew the drink was likely tainted with something unpleasant. It could even have drugs that Jonathan had slipped in.
Her expression turned icy, and with a dignified look, she turned to Jonathan. “It seems we’re not meant to cooperate, after all. Since that’s the case, I’ll take my leave now.”

She grabbed Madison’s hand and tried to leave. Just a few steps in, a bodyguard appeared, blocking their path.
Estelle stopped, turning around with an expressionless face. “What does this mean, Mr.
Glover?”
Jonathan held his glass with a lewd smile creeping across his face. “It’s just one drink. If you don’t want to, I can have the girl next to you drink it instead.”
After all, neither of them was going to escape tonight.
Madison panicked instantly. “Estelle,” she called out.
She wasn’t stupid. There was no way she couldn’t tell those two drinks were dangerous.
Estelle gave Madison a reassuring smile before turning back to Jonathan with more contempt. “Mr. Glover, I’m sure you know who we’re working with. If we delay the release of our drug, I’m certain you’ll be held accountable as well.”
Jonathan shrugged dismissively. “There’s nothing we can do. The weather’s been bad this year, and we can’t just force a deal, can we?”
Jonathan was indeed shameless. Estelle felt the familiar pain in her stomach return. Jonathan had said he was eager to cooperate with her, and now, he was trying to force her into drinking.
When she didn’t respond, Jonathan sighed dramatically. “It looks like Stellar Foundation won’t last long. If that so–called cancer treatment drug is delayed, how much will the penalty be?”
Estelle’s expression darkened instantly. She clenched her fists, glaring at Jonathan with pure fury. At that moment, she wanted nothing more than to kill him.
Seeing that she didn’t respond, Jonathan casually propped his legs up on the table, looking even more arrogant.
