Chapter 36
Estelle couldn’t help but eye Alison, feeling like something was off about her.
But Alison didn’t bother to stop Estelle.
She continued, “Estelle and Mr. Lancaster are pretty close. Didn’t you take care of her for the past five years, Mr. Lancaster? That explains why you quit your job at the hospital right after she was announced dead.”
When Alison finished her sentence, Timothy immediately jumped in, “What else could it be? These two are just putting on a show, probably having fun overseas.”
Seth explained, his expression turning dark as he defended Estelle, “Stop talking nonsense. Estelle had stomach cancer for real, and it’s our entire team’s effort that brought her back.
Alison grinned ear–to–ear. “Don’t get the wrong idea, Mr. Lancaster. We know you care about Estelle a lot, so don’t get worked up.”
as if he After saying that, Alison checked on Dillon again. When she saw the look in his eyes, wanted to kill Estelle, she finally breathed a sigh of relief. After all, she wanted to make him hate Estelle again.
Estelle scoffed. “Back then, Dillon and I had already signed the divorce papers. If everything went as planned, we should be officially divorced already. How I want to live my life has nothing to do with you.”
With that, Estelle fixed her gaze on Dillon. “Look after you lackeys. They act like a dog on a leash. I’m not the same person I used to be, and I’m not going to keep putting up with it.”
Alison was so furious that her eyes turned bloodshot. How dare Estelle call her a dog?
Estelle dismissively nodded. “Did you get upset because I hit the nail on the head?”
She rolled her eyes at Alison. “Yeah. Everything you said is right. Are you happy now?”
She raised her hand to check her watch before looking at Alison again. This time, her gaze became a bit more thoughtful, like she had figured out Alison’s secret.
Alison immediately tensed up. She subtly took a step back, trying to redirect the conversation to Estelle’s relationship with Seth.
Estelle snorted. “If you followed the news at all, you’d see that Seth had been working on cancer treatment drug research for the past five years. He barely got any sleep, and you’re saying he dated me. How did he do all that? Did he have a doppelganger?”
Alison’s eyes welled up. “Estelle!”
Seeing Alison cry, Timothy pulled her into his arms right away, glaring at Estelle with intense anger. “Hey-”

Estelle interrupted, “Do you know what you look like right now, Timothy? Just like a mad dog that just bites without thinking.”
Timothy’s eyes went wide open. Did he hear that right? Did Estelle just call him a crazy dog?
He subconsciously turned to Dillon for support, hoping Dillon would back him up like before and defend Alison together.
But Dillon just kept staring at Estelle without even noticing how mad Alison was.
Timothy’s eyes turned red in anger. All of this happened because Estelle was nothing but
trouble.
He demanded, “Say sorry now!”
Estelle grunted in confusion as she turned to Timothy, and then her eyes softened with sympathy.
She shook her head before sighing, “You’re so foolish and blind. How the heck are you still in the Sawford family? Mr. Bobby really cares about you.”
Timothy raised his hand and was about to hit Estelle. “Estelle Sawford!”
Before the slap could hit her, Dillon caught it with lightning speed. He shoved Timothy aside before turning to her. “Mr. Glover got the short end of the stick and signed the contract today. But what if he finds out we’re getting a divorce? Do you think the contract will be a shackle or a lifeline?”
Estelle froze in place. Her eyes twitched, and a chill ran down her spine.
Even after knowing she had connections, Jonathan still dared to get in her way. What would happen when he found out that her leverage wasn’t real?
Estelle bit her lower lip, trying to act tough.
