Chapter 45
Despite seeing Ethan’s frustrated expression, Estelle remained composed. She looked at Ethan with a hint of amusement while silently counting down to when he would start showing signs
of annoyance.
Before she could reach 20, he ended up threatening her.
“Seth’s lab overseas seems to be doing well, but have all his approvals gone through since he came back? You do know that even one violation could stop you from continuing your experiments?”
Her expression turned cold. “Mr. Sawford, is that a threat?”
Ethan adjusted his glasses and smiled sweetly. “Come on. Don’t make it sound so serious. I was just giving you a gentle reminder as your big brother. If you really don’t feel like talking, I’ll leave you be.”
After saying that, he turned to leave.
“Hold on!” Estelle stopped him before he could go.
She took a deep breath and tried her best to calm down. “I’m free this Friday. If you happen to be available, too, let’s have a chat.”
Ethan paused for a moment, then nodded with a smile. “That works.”
After getting an answer, Estelle averted her gaze. At times, Ethan could be more cruel than Dillon. He was just as dangerous, and for that reason, she preferred to limit their interactions, Dillon closed the car window and glanced toward Estelle, as if he had something on his mind.
She turned to face the window, not wanting to speak to him.
The car started moving, and she realized they were heading back to the villa. She turned to look at him, confused.
Noticing her gaze, he raised his head. “What is it?”
She laughed bitterly. “Dillon, what are you trying to do? Did I say I was going back with you?”
The smile on Dillon’s face vanished.
“You’re tossing me aside right after using me?” he asked with a stern expression.
“Let me out.”
His lips pressed into a thin line, and the air in the car was thick with unspoken tension. Despite his clear displeasure, Estelle kept going as if she didn’t notice.

“Timothy’s right. You and Alison are a couple now, and you and I…” She trailed off.

“If you’re still set on taking revenge, then do whatever you want. overseas and never come back. I’ll make sure you never see my face again.”
With every word, he clenched his fists. His icy state could freeze hell over. Was he really so despicable in her eyes?
Then, he remembered the highlight of the conversation.
“I’m not with Alison.”
Estelle looked at him with suspicion. Dillon wasn’t with Alison?
But she knew he wouldn’t lie to her. Not because he cared for her, but because he wouldn’t waste time making up lies.
She retracted her gaze.
“It’s none of my business if you two are together. I just know that my mind’s clear now. I’ve woken up from that dream.
“Before I left, I lost my child because of you and almost succumbed to death. I think that makes up for the harm I caused you in the past.”
Dillon was more confused than ever. He was dumbfounded that any of that had been related to
him.
“Didn’t you lose your child because you were such a whore and couldn’t go a day without a man?” he spat out.
“Stop the car!”
A wave of icy dread swept over Estelle. She shot a death glare at him.
“I guess you’re right. I asked for it!”
Despite her sharp tone, her eyes
welled up
with tears.
If Dillon hadn’t refused to divorce her, why would Alison have hired those people and taken those photos? Her nightmares hadn’t stopped since that day.
If she hadn’t jumped, what would have happened next?
Seeing her cry only frustrated Dillon more. He pulled out his cigarettes and was about to light one, but after glancing at her, he stuffed the pack back into place.
“Why are you being so dramatic?”
“Stop the car,” she repeated.
The driver looked at Dillon helplessly.
