Chapter 47
Just with that one sentence, Dillon’s expression darkened.
A chill went down Baxter’s spine. Knowing he had struck a nerve, he finally shut

- up.
What felt like an eternity passed before Baxter gave up and let out a sigh.
“So, what do you plan on doing next?”
Dillon felt lost at the question. It was unusual for him not to have everything figured out.
Still, a voice in his head told him–if he didn’t bring Estelle back, he’d
regret it.
Five years ago, when he first learned she was dead, there had been no sense of relief. For five whole years, he had nightmares without end.
Now that she had come back alive, he refused to let someone who could stir his emotions walk out of his life again.
Watching Dillon struggle to answer, Baxter sighed again. By now, he had a rough idea of what Dillon was thinking.
“Estelle isn’t like other women. Not to mention, she has the Stellar Foundation. With the
cancer
treatment drug as her ace card, you’re…” Baxter trailed off with a disapproving snort.
It wasn’t that he thought Dillon didn’t measure up to Estelle. It was just that Dillon had hurt her for the sake of another woman. Who could blame her for not wanting him back?
Still, those were words he’d never dare say to Dillon.
“She’s my wife. So, as long as we’re not divorced, she can forget about leaving me,” Dillon said flatly.
Baxter realized he’d been talking to a wall all this time.
He cleared his throat and said, “So, do you still want to know what’s causing her allergies?”
Dillon’s
gaze turned sharp and cold.
When Baxter met his eyes, he nearly tripped.
“What’s with that look? Don’t think of asking me for anything illegal,” he said nervously.
“It’s your job to figure out the cause of her allergies. I’m giving you three days–that should be enough,” Dillon said in a tone that left no room for argument.
Baxter muttered a curse under his breath.
Dillon raised a brow: “Can’t handle it?”
“That’s not what I meant. I’ll give it a try,” Baxter said with an awkward smile.
He grabbed his equipment and was ready to bolt.
But just as he reached the door, Dillon called out to him.
“Keep an eye on Alison for me.”
“Huh?”
Baxter stood frozen. The same guy who used to treat Alison like she was a precious gem was now asking him to spy on her?
Dillon’s face darkened with something unreadable.
“I think she’s been hiding something from me.‘
“Alright then, I’ll get on it right away.”
With that, he ran off without looking back. If he’d stayed even a second longer, Dillon might’ve had another “episode“.
Dillon stared at the door with a cold expression and sank deep into thought.
The next day, Ethan arrived at the Stellar Foundation.
Estelle had been waiting for him since early morning, with Seth by her side.
When Ethan saw Seth, his expression darkened. Rejection was clear in his eyes.
Still, neither Estelle nor Seth seemed to notice. Seth had no intention of leaving.
With no other choice, Ethan made the call.
“Mr. Lancaster, I’m about to speak with my sister. I don’t think an outsider should be listening
in.”
Seth said nothing but gave him a mocking smirk
Ethair was caught off guard but quickly pulled himself together.
“If Mr. Sawford has something to discuss with Ms. Harrington, you can speak with her first,” Estelle said coldly.
“Estelle Sawford!” he growled.
His calm was rattled the moment he saw the indifference in her eyes. He took a deep breath, composed himself, and sat across from her.
“You’ve never come home since your return. Have you forgotten who you are?”

She found it laughable that he spoke as if he were some elder scolding a child. A smile crept
onto her face.
Her beautiful features were tainted with mockery
