Chapter 49
Ethan went deep into thought.
After a long while, he finally lifted his head. It was true that she had been in pain. She wouldn’t have had the energy to join “parties“.
“The night before, the baby in her womb was announced dead.
“Mr. Sawford, do you think someone in that condition would be doing anything scandalous?” Seth added.
Ethan shot up from his seat and avoided looking into Estelle’s expressionless eyes.
He kept his head down and said, “I need to leave. I have something else to do.”
In the end, he fled the scene.
After he had finally left, Estelle let out a heavy sigh and thanked Seth sincerely.
“Thank you. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t know how to deal with my brother.”
Seth lightly flicked her forehead, his eyes filled with concern.
“Since he dares hurt you, of course, I’m fighting back. Don’t be silly and let him take advantage of you anymore.”
She smiled and shook her head. “I won’t anymore.‘
She had no expectations left for the Sawfords. Naturally, she wouldn’t let them take advantage of her again.
After Ethan left the foundation in a hurry, he rushed back to his company and called for a meeting with Timothy.
Timothy came unwillingly and sat on the sofa, looking at Ethan with displeasure.
“Why did you call me? I was busy getting stuff for Alison.”
“Again?” Ethan frowned.
Timothy didn’t notice the irritation in his brother’s eyes and nodded like it was nothing.
“Alison’s been through so much. Of course, I had to do something to make it up to her,” Timothy
explained.
“What do you mean she’s ‘been through so much?”
Ethan recalled what Seth had told him. His expression turned cold.
All of a sudden, Timothy sensed something was off. He looked up and met Ethan’s icy stare.
“Ethan, why are you looking at me like that? All I did was get her some jewelry. Why are you so mad?” he asked cautiously.
Ethan’s frown deepened.
Timothy grew anxious and instinctively snuggled himself into the corner of the sofa. What was up with Ethan today? Did he eat something wrong?
“Five years ago, Estelle was locked up by you at your holiday inn. Why did she bring people there and not notify you?”
Timothy paused and lowered his head in guilt.
“Was there anyone who didn’t know who Estelle was? Did you think the housekeeper at my inn would dare block her way?”
Hearing that, Ethan’s eyes flickered with suspicion. Was that really the truth?
“Ethan, did that bitch say something to you? I’m warning you, you can’t believe her. That woman’s no good.”
“That’s enough.”
Seeing how Timothy spoke of Estelle, Ethan’s voice turned even colder.
“She’s your sister.
“Tell me everything that happened back then. Not a word less. If you lie to me…” his voice trailed off as his eyes turned sharp.
Timothy sat upright immediately and didn’t dare joke around anymore.
He told him everything that had happened at the inn.
As if he didn’t understand the weight of what he was saying, he added, “That bitch was just running her mouth. Alison brought those people over to have fun with her. Who knew she’d seduce them and even try to hurt Alison? She should’ve just died back then.”
“Get out,” Ethan said coldly.
If this idiot weren’t his own brother, he wouldn’t have hesitated to kill him. As for Alison, he felt the same.
His eyes flickered with a strong killing intent.
That night, Estelle was looking for inspiration when Madison suddenly came into the room. Madison placed her hands behind her back and looked at Estelle as if she had something to say.
