Chapter 51
The page Lance flipped to showed an emerald pendant.
At a glance, it didn’t look like anything special. But with Dillon’s sharp mind, he quickly caught on to Lance’s intentions.
Dillon accepted the invitation and the auction list
“I’ll go.”
After getting the answer he wanted, Lance let out a relieved sigh.
“I’ll be waiting, Mr. Waverly.”
With that, he turned around and left Dillon’s office.
He looked at the emerald pendant on the auction list again. It was a rare piece from the Age of Imperial Light.
Ronald, a man from a prestigious medical lineage, was especially fond of such items. He even owned a mountain full of herbs. Many major pharmaceutical groups were envious of the treasures in his possession.
Dillon was determined to get that pendant.
Two days later, the day of the auction arrived.
Estelle showed up in a long red gown and immediately caught the attention of the men in the
hall.
She handed her invitation to the staff at the entrance. They glanced at it, and their expressions changed instantly. They began treating her with the utmost respect.
“Ms. Alex, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Mr. Sterling has arranged the best seat for follow me.”
you. Please
“Alright, thank you.”

She smiled and followed the staff into the auction hall.
Soon after she entered, Dillon and Alison arrived at the entrance.
Alison’s eyes were puffy, and she looked at him with a pitiful expression.
Dillon’s brows furrowed as he locked eyes on the woman in the red gown. It looked familiar.
“Dillon?”
Seeing that he kept staring toward the auction hall, she grabbed his arm quickly, worried he would walk in without her.

“Dillon, we need to let them check our invitations.”
He looked down at her hand on his arm, clearly displeased.
She quickly pulled away, her smile stiffening.
Since Estelle left five years ago, Dillon had never let her get close to him. Especially not with intimate gestures like linking arms. If not for tonight’s occasion, she wouldn’t have even
dared.
He pulled away from her and handed their invitation to the staff.
After verifying it, they were led into their private room.
In the room next door, Estelle looked over the auction list. Her eyes lit with interest.
Several items caught her attention. Some collectibles on the list had even come from her. It was her way of thanking Lance for what he had done for her in the past.
“Help me keep an eye on these items,” Estelle said to the manager beside her.
He jotted them down carefully. After confirming there was nothing else she needed, he left to check on the neighboring private room.
Coincidentally, that room belonged to Dillon.
Dillon was lost in thought when the manager entered.
“Who’s in the room next to ours?”
The manager was slightly taken aback by how straightforward he was.
He hesitated for a second but quickly answered, “It’s Alex.”
“Alex?” Alison asked in surprise.
“I thought Alex hadn’t appeared in years. Why now?”
Her abrupt interruption annoyed the manager, and his tone turned stern.
“That’s Alex’s choice.”
Alison froze at the response and turned to Dillon with a hurt expression.
Dillon stared at the partition wall separating their rooms, his expression unreadable. He
looked back at the manager.
“Aren’t you supposed to keep client information confidential?”
“Mr. Sterling said it’s fine to tell you,” the manager replied with a smile.
Lance was a cunning fox. He clearly had a reason for allowing it. But Dillon didn’t seem interested in figuring it out.
Alison leaned toward him and asked curiously, “Dillon, I heard Alex owns many rare
collectibles. If only we could take a look–”

‘Alex doesn’t meet with just anyone. If you’re interested, try contacting Alex’s assistant,” he cut her off coldly.
Her smile faded, and she looked down, wounded by his harsh tone.
