What Alison had expected was for Dillon to help contact Alex on her behalf. It was a shame he wasn’t as obedient as he used to be.
If she could get close to Alex and win him over, her status in this field would become unmatched.
She stood up immediately and said, “Dillon, I’m going to the washroom.”
He responded with a simple hum and kept his eyes on the auction list.
This time, she wasn’t going to waste her time being mad at him. Instead, she left their private room and headed straight to the one next door.
She knocked and said, “Mr. Alex, I’m Alison Sawford from the Sawford family. I’m a big fan of
yours.
“May I come in and pick your brain?”
Noticing it was Alison, Estelle’s beautiful eyes filled with suspicion. It was hard to believe Alison had any interest in collectibles. Could she even understand the stories and history
behind them?
“Mr. Alex, may I come in?” Alison’s voice turned sweet.
Estelle quickly figured out Alison wasn’t there for the collectibles. She must be after
something else. A hint of menace flickered in her eyes.
“Come in.”
Alison was startled by the familiar female voice. She hesitated, but her curiosity got the better
of her. She opened the door.
“Why are you here?” she blurted out.
Estelle smiled.
“Hi.”
Alison walked in, scanned the room, and glared at her.
“What are you doing here?”
Estelle fluttered her lashes and said playfully, “Why don’t you take a guess?”
Alison clenched her fists and forced herself to stay calm. After a moment of thought, it hit her.
“You managed to cling to Alex in such a short time?” she scoffed.
Estelle said nothing and kept smiling.
Chapter 52
To Alison, that silence was confirmation. She didn’t know what to say next.
After gathering her thoughts, she realized something. She lifted her chin proudly and stared at Estelle like she’d won first prize.
“No wonder you could set up your foundation. I guess Alex gave you the money?
“I can’t believe you’ve fallen so low that you had to become someone’s mistress. I should really tell Dad and our brothers what you’ve been up to.”
“So what?” Estelle shrugged.
Clearly, the threat meant nothing to her.
“Estelle!” Alison’s breathing grew heavy. “How can you be so shameless?”
“I learned it from you,” Estelle retorted.
She rolled her eyes and checked the time on her watch.
“Alex will be back any minute. If you don’t leave soon, I’ll tell him how you’ve been treating
- me. I doubt you’ll be welcome at any high–end auctions after that.”
“Dillon brought me here. As long as he’s around, I can go anywhere I want,” she said smugly.
At the mention of his name, something tugged at Estelle’s heart. A bitter feeling crept
She laughed at herself. How could she have forgotten he was here?
Dillon would never let anyone touch his precious gem.
Reading her expression, Alison looked pleased. She thought she had the upper hand.
“What are you doing here?” Dillon’s distant voice came from the door.
Estelle snapped out of it and looked at him mockingly.
“What does that have to do with you?”
His expression darkened.

He pushed Alison aside and marched toward her. Then, without warning, he grabbed her arms

pulled her outside.
Seeing that the auction was about to start, she struggled with all her might.
“Dillon, let me go!”
He gripped her wrists tightly and said, “I let you go, just so you can run off and get cozy with some other man?”

His tone dripped with jealousy, though he didn’t realize it.
