Chapter 53
“Another man?”
Noticing how he looked ready to snap, Estelle couldn’t hold back a laugh.
Right after, she suddenly grabbed Dillon’s hand and bit down hard.
He let go immediately and took a few steps back.
“Dillon, are you okay?” Alison asked with concern.
He shook his head, and the displeasure in his eyes deepened.
“What’s your relationship with Alex?” he asked.
Estelle glanced at Alison’s hand on his arm and smiled mockingly.
“Do I have to explain our relationship to you?”
Hearing that, Alison’s eyes lit up with joy. A disdainful smirk curled on her lips. It was obvious
this idiot’s response would only push Dillon further away from her.
She averted her gaze and looked up at him with pitiful eyes.
“Dillon, don’t be mad at Estelle. She’s just lonely and needs someone by her side.”
“Will you shut it?” Estelle said, annoyed.
She turned to Dillon. Strangely, he hadn’t taught her a lesson or stood up for Alison like before. Could it be that she needed to turn up the heat?
She rolled her eyes and said, “You’re so freaking loud. What’s the difference between you and
a banshee?”
Furious at the comparison, Alison’s eyes reddened. She looked up at Dillon, tears welling in
her eyes.
“Dillon, I didn’t know Estelle hated me so much. She must be upset after seeing us together. Let’s go.”
He responded with a light hum but kept his gaze on Estelle.
Noticing his look, Alison’s expression darkened with hatred, though she quickly masked it
with a smile.
“Oh, right, I heard Alex never had any partners before. You’re the first one.
“Estelle, you’re quite the genius.”
“Not as brilliant as you, with all those men surrounding you.”
Chapter 53
Estelle looked at Dillon again. Seeing that he still wasn’t angry, her frown deepened.
Alison gave him a pleading look, hoping he’d say something in her favor.
“Are you done?” he said, fixing his gaze on Estelle.
She blinked innocently and turned to Alison. Wasn’t this the perfect time to play the victim?
Alison glared at her, then began to sob pitifully.
“Dillon, don’t make things hard for her. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding with her and Alex…” Her voice trailed off as she struggled to come up with a reason to defend Estelle.
She wiped away non–existent tears from the corners of her eyes.
“Maybe they’re just friends. Maybe Alex was just helping her out of pity and brought her here, ” she added.
“Let’s go,” Dillon said coldly.
Without warning, he dragged Estelle out of the room.
She hadn’t expected him to act so impulsively. All she could do was cling to the doorframe, struggling to break free from his grip.
She glanced around and whispered threateningly.
“Dillon, let me go now, or I’ll make a scene. If Alison ends up being called a homewrecker, can you really live with that?”
He gripped her tighter, and pain shot through her arm.
Swallowing the pain, she met his dark and consuming gaze and let out an evil laugh.
His eyes turned colder as he looked at her.
He yanked her forward and grabbed her chin.
“You’re threatening me?”
An immense pressure weighed down on her. Her heart raced uncontrollably.
