Chapter 54
Estelle anxiously averted his frightening gaze and forced herself to appear composed.
“I’m just telling the truth. Since you don’t want to divorce me, then you’d better protect Alison and your illegitimate child with all you’ve got.”
“Illegitimate child?”
A flicker of confusion flashed across his eyes before he let out a faint laugh.
Just as Dillon was about to speak again, Alison suddenly called out to Estelle.
“Estelle, let’s talk about this when we get back. We really shouldn’t be in Alex’s private room.
“If he comes back and sees this, he won’t be too happy about it,” she said gently.
“Let me go!” Estelle growled.
That little bitch was clearly setting her up. There was no way she’d let Alison have her way.
But from Dillon’s perspective, it seemed like she would rather go with Alex than be with him. That thought alone sent a wave of anger through him…
Dillon tightened his grip on her arms and, despite despising himself for it, chose to threaten
her.
“If you want the Lancesters to go bankrupt, go ahead and raise your voice.”
Her body trembled with rage. Her face turned pale, and her eyes widened in disbelief.
“You’re threatening me?”
Seeing her reaction at the mention of the Lancesters, his anger only grew. The words had already been said–there was no taking them back now.
“Go ahead and try,” she snapped, fists clenched. But almost immediately, she let out a bitter
laugh.
All she had was her foundation. If they went against him, it would surely fall apart.
Reading the change in her expression, he felt an unexpected pang in his chest. Every time she looked like that, something inside him twisted uncomfortably.
foundation—are you sure it’s valid?”
He shoved the feeling aside and added coldly, “And your foundation
“Dillon!” she yelled and raised her hand.
He didn’t flinch, and his expression didn’t waver
“You’re right. But you know what? Don’t you think the way you’re threatening me now is just pathetic?” she said, almost as if mocking herself

He remained calm and completely indifferent.
“As long as it works.”
She scoffed. Her beautiful face was filled with mockery.
“Next up, let’s bring out our first auction item!”
The emcee’s voice echoed through the hall, and Estelle panicked. She had a task to do today. She wasn’t like that scumbag, who only knew how to flirt and chase after a pretty smile.
Pulling herself together, she took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down.
“Dillon, let’s talk after the auction. I have something important to take care of, and I’m sure you’re here to get something for Alison. So, let’s just mind our own business, okay?”
“Mind our own business?”
He repeated her words slowly, as if testing them.
Estelle nodded quickly, her eyes lighting up with hope. Wasn’t he here to buy Alison something?
According to Alison’s social media posts these past two days, she’d been flaunting all the gifts Timothy had gotten her.
Shouldn’t Dillon try to keep up with the score?
But the moment he saw how eager she was for him to leave, his temper flared again.
“You really want me to get something for Alison that badly?”
“The auction’s already started. I heard there’s some extraordinary jewelry up for grabs,” she said, gently reminding him.
It was his money. He could spend it however he liked. Who was she to ask about his plans- especially when he hated her this much?
Just as she was about to sink into old memories, her gaze grew cold. She didn’t want anything to do with him anymore.
“Estelle!” he shouted her name, voice thick with anger.
But even as he did, he found himself confused by the emotion in his chest. Why was he this mad?
Looking at her now, it felt like she couldn’t care less about him–and that pissed him off even
more.
Before she could react, he grabbed her by the waist and tried to drag her into his private room.
“Let go!”

“I’m Alex!” she snapped.
