Chapter 63
“Ms. Sawford,” Ronald called out to Estelle.
She quickly looked up at him anxiously.
Seeing her looking so serious, Ronald frowned, showing his displeasure. “Ms. Sawford, I have my principles. I’d like to get to the bottom of things. What’s the relationship between you and Mr. Lancaster? And how are things between you and your husband?”
Estelle hesitated briefly before she spoke up. “Seth is a very important business partner of. mine. As for Dillon…”
A flicker of aversion flashed in her eyes before she continued, “Here’s something you might not know, Mr. Pembroke. Had I not ended up in surgery five years ago, Dillon and I would’ve already been divorced. I nearly lost my life back then, and he was entirely to blame.”
“Oh?” Ronald directed his gaze to a wall in front of them and smiled mysteriously. “You seem to… really hate your husband?”
A loud crashing sound, like something had been knocked over, was heard.
Estelle turned around curiously, but all she saw was a wall and nothing else.
Ronald’s expression remained unchanging. As Estelle hadn’t replied yet, he pressed on curiously, “You haven’t answered me yet, Ms. Sawford. What do you think of your husband?”
“If things go according to plan, we’ll be getting a divorce real soon. So rest assured, Mr. Pembroke. There won’t be any rumors or scandals involving me. Even if there are, they’d be nothing more than malicious slander.”
Estelle waited quietly for Ronald’s response once she was done speaking.
He suddenly let out a light chuckle and shook his head. Forget it. He’d be much better off not getting involved in the younger generation’s relationships.
There was another visitor’s lounge beside the lounge Estelle was in.
Dillon walked out of there with a stormy expression and left without a backward glance. He shouldn’t even have come in the first place.
Back in the lounge, Estelle had no idea what had happened outside. She pulled out the proposal she prepared and began explaining her plan to Ronald.
He was soon deeply impressed by the proposal. Ronald was absorbed in his thoughts for quite some time after hearing what she had to say.
“Mr. Pembroke?” Estelle looked at him anxiously
Ronald quickly snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her with admiration. “If everyone

had your mentality, the general public wouldn’t have to worry about not being able to afford medication. But there aren’t many herbs that will be of use to you in my herb fields.”
Had he just agreed to her proposal? Estelle tried her best to control her excitement and said politely, “You flatter me, Mr. Pembroke. It’s our Honor to be able to collaborate with you. We’ll take as much of the herbs as you’re able to provide.”
Then, she handed him a gift she had prepared.
When Ronald opened up the box and took a look at the gift inside, he was momentarily taken aback by what he saw. Then, he laughed.
“What a coincidence! Someone gave me an Azmaranthine emerald pendant just this morning, and now you’re giving me another one. Looks like I’m in luck today!”
Estelle was shocked to hear that. As far as she was aware, emerald pendants were few and far between. Rarer were those that met Ronald’s standards.
Furthermore, there had only ever been three known Azmaranthine emerald pendants. The Sterling family’s heirloom was the only one in the country.
But that was the Sterling family’s heirloom–it couldn’t have been sold in public. So, who else had the means to get their hands on something as precious as that?
Ronald put the emerald pendant away carefully. “Had it been any other gift, I wouldn’t have accepted it. But this is a piece of treasure…”
Stroking his beard, Ronald gracefully accepted the gift. “You really picked the right gift. I’d feel bad if I didn’t accept it.”
Estelle was relieved to see him stashing the gift away.
Seth grasped the opportunity and pulled out a contract. He smiled at Ronald and suggested, If you don’t mind, Mr. Pembroke, how about we get the papers signed today?”

Ronald shot him a look and said nothing. He picked up the contract and promptly signed his name. Then, his gaze shifted to Estelle once more
“Ms. Sawford, there are people out there who have been secretly helping you out without you noticing it. If you’d just slow down and take a good look around, you’d surely notice.”
Estelle was caught off guard and instinctively looked at Seth.
Seth smiled at her with gentleness and affection in his eyes, making her blush.
