Chapter 72
Alison clenched her fists, her eyes filled with unwillingness as she gazed at him.
Soon, she regained her composure and nodded lightly. “I won’t disturb you. I heard from Timothy that he’s very interested in the cancer treatment drug. Dillon, you guys must do your
best.”
Mentioning the cancer treatment drug caused Dillon to pause for a brief moment before continuing to look through the documents as if nothing had happened.
Such a tiny movement didn’t escape Alison’s notice.
She smiled meaningfully.
He was hooked.
As soon as Alison left, Dillon immediately arranged a meeting with Ethan and called for Baxter.
Upon learning that Dillon was investigating stomach cancer again, Baxter couldn’t help but -raise both hands in surrender.
“Oh my god! You’re not still doubting that Estelle is faking it, are you?”
Dillon shot him a cold glance and then lowered his eyes to focus on his desk.
Thinking he still didn’t believe him, Baxter took the opportunity to roll his eyes several times when Dillon wasn’t looking.
“Dillon, I’m not trying to favor Estelle, but you’re really going too far this time. All of those medical records are real, and…”
Baxter hesitated, a twinge of sympathy creeping in as he thought about how hard Estelle must have fought for her health over the years.
He quickly glanced at Dillon before lowering his head again.
“If you really like Alison, why don’t you just divorce Estelle and marry her?”
Dillon immediately furrowed his brows, clearly displeased. “When did I ever say I wanted to marry Alison?”
“Well…”
Noticing the dark shift in Dillon’s gaze, Baxter quickly fell silent.
He blinked innocently, waiting for Dillon to speak
“How did she end up with this illness? Did she deliberately make it worse?”
Dillon’s lips curled into a smirk, tinged with mockery, as if he looked down on Estelle.

Seeing this, Baxter shuddered.
He widened his eyes in shock. “Dillon, what’s wrong with you today? Do you know Mrs. Sawford died of stomach cancer? It’s very likely that Estelle inherited it!”
“Inherited?” Dillon laughed.
Clearly, he didn’t believe it.
Looking into Dillon’s mocking eyes, Baxter sighed heavily.
He sat down across from him, choosing his words carefully.
“I know you don’t believe it, but I truly think no normal person would do something like this.”
Dillon responded with nothing but a soft sneer.
He then mocked, “Sure, no normal person would do this, but is Estelle a normal person? Which normal person would drug her sister’s fiancé?”
And over the years, Estelle had practically been a masochist, hovering around him. Was she normal?
Feeling Dillon’s blatant bias against Estelle, Baxter could only rub his forehead in frustration.
He really didn’t know what to say anymore.
Before Baxter could gather his thoughts, a brown paper bag was suddenly tossed onto the table in front of him.
Confused, Baxter picked it up.
He opened it, and a sly grin spread across his face
“So, you’ve been waiting for me here, huh? You want me to hand over the project proposal so you can use me to work with Estelle? Is she refusing to see you?”
This comment immediately darkened Dillon’s face.
Dillon narrowed his eyes dangerously and warned, “If you don’t leave, I’ll throw you out of
here.
Frightened, Baxter stood up immediately.
He glared at Dillon, frustrated. He asked, “I’m your best friend, and you expect me to work with Estelle?”
“Go deal with it,” Dillon said coldly.
Seeing Dillon’s lack of warmth, Baxter snorted in annoyance.
However, since Dillon was willing to let him make money, Baxter naturally didn’t mind and wouldn’t turn down the offer.

Soon, Baxter left.
Dillon then called for Zayne and quietly gave him a few instructions.
