Chapter 74
As soon as Timothy saw the others walk away, he immediately grabbed Alison and headed upstairs to discuss their plan.
Later that evening, Estelle and Madison returned to Rosewood Estates and noticed workers moving in and out of the neighboring villa, carrying things inside.
Curious, Madison stretched her neck to get a better look.
“Wow, the neighbors are something else. I just saw a screen made of solid oak.”
Seeing that Estelle remained silent,,Madison added, “It even has a sparkle to it, so it looks pretty expensive.”
A sparkling screen? Estelle’s heart sank with a bad feeling.
She did know someone who loved new fancy décor, but…
Estelle forced a bitter smile.
Dillon wasn’t in his villa tending to his garden–why was he here, making his life difficult for himself?
She shook her head with a small, amused smile, quickly dismissing the ridiculous thought.
Noticing her strange smile, Madison hooked her arm around Estelle’s and led her inside.
“So, should we invite the neighbors over for a meal or something?”
At the mention of the neighbors, Estelle lightly knocked her on the head.
“People living here are either rich or powerful. Who knows, the person next door might be someone involved with the Sawford family. Do you really want to go over there and be laughed at?”
The mention of the Sawford family immediately wiped the smile from Madison’s face. She gazed at Estelle with a look full of grievance.
“Stella, I swear, you know just how to kill the mood.”
Her words succeeded in killing any desire Madison had to make friends with the neighbors. Not long after they had returned, the neighbor’s butler arrived, holding a very elegant gift. Madison was busy playing a game, and it was Estelle who went to answer the door.
When she saw the butler wasn’t someone she knew, Estelle relaxed.
The butler, Marcus Cooper, greeted her with a warm smile and handed over the gift.

“Ms. Sawford, good evening. My boss just moved in today. If we’ve caused any nuisance, please forgive us.”
Seeing how polite Marcus was, Estelle was slightly surprised. He knew who she was, yet he was so courteous. It seemed like he wasn’t someone with ties to the Sawford family.
Estelle accepted the gift.
“You’re too kind. I actually baked some cookies today. If you don’t mind, you could take them back to try.”
With that, Estelle quickly ran back to her room and returned with a box of cookies.
Marcus‘ eyes brightened, and he smiled warmly.
“You’re too kind, Ms. Sawford. I’m sure my boss will love them.”
“I hope he likes them. I made them myself, so they might not be as good as those from a pastry shop,” Estelle said quietly, blushing a little.
Marcus smiled and took the box before leaving.
Estelle turned and headed back inside.
When she returned, Madison looked up, her curiosity piqued.
“Well? Was he a rich, handsome guy?”
Amused by her question, Estelle shook her head.
“You’re in for a disappointment. He wasn’t a rich, handsome guy. He’s an elderly gentleman probably close to 60. Do you want to meet him?”
Madison immediately made a face, shaking her head in rapid denial, clearly worried Estelle would actually try to get his contact information.
Without saying another word, Madison quickly turned back to her game, unwilling to joke
with her anymore.
Estelle sat down and began opening the gift. Inside was a beautifully crafted crystal ornament.
