Timothy’s dark eyes were fixed on Estelle, and the suspicion and disgust in them made her chest tighten.
Could he really be planning to erase her completely just because of Alison?
Estelle unconsciously took a step back.
Noticing her unease, Timothy’s gaze darkened. “As expected, you’re just brushing me off.”
She frowned, looking at him as if he were a fool.
Suddenly, he grabbed her chin and squeezed it hard.
It hurt!
Estelle’s eyes quickly filled with tears.
Timothy instinctively wanted to release her, but then he remembered she was the one responsible for Alison’s unwed pregnancy. He wanted to strangle her right there. His eyes filled with disappointment.
“Estelle, why can’t you be more obedient like Alison?”
Estelle forced a smile through her tears. Wasn’t she obedient enough?
The elevator door opened with a ding, and the strange feeling in Timothy’s heart instantly vanished. Someone entered, and he quickly resumed his usual refined and elegant demeanor.
But once they stepped out of the elevator, he grabbed her wrist and dragged her to the car and started the engine without caring whether she could keep up.
Seeing that they were already leaving the city, Estelle became nervous. She looked at Timothy. “What are you planning to do?”
He wasn’t planning to bury her alive, was he?
Timothy glanced at her, noticing the fear in her eyes, and a sense of dissatisfaction rose within him. “Do you think I’m going to kill you?”
Wasn’t that the case?
She raised an eyebrow, her eyes filled with suspicion.
Seeing this, he smirked disdainfully. “Don’t worry. I’m not going to break the law for someone like you. You will never get any good karma from Heaven. It’s not my place to deal with you.”
Feeling his unmasked disgust, Estelle instinctively clenched her fists. Though she no longer cared about them, his words still hurt her. She smiled bitterly. “You’re right. Someone like me
doesn’t need you to step in.”
In three months, she would finally be able to see Aurora.
Noticing the tearful look in her eyes, another strange feeling rose in Timothy’s heart. Why did he care about the emotions of this troublemaker?
“Damn it!” He slammed his fist on the steering wheel. Then, he sped up, stepping hard on the accelerator.
The door to Dillon’s office opened, and a man with a mop of red hair, a plaid shirt hanging loosely on his frame, and a glinting earring in one ear walked in casually.
He went straight to Dillon, sat across from him, and then propped his legs up on the desk. He tossed over a brown paper bag. “Here’s the thing you wanted.”
Dillon took it and opened it indifferently. But soon, he frowned, and his eyes turned unusually terrifying.
Noticing his friend’s change in expression, the man immediately straightened up and stood properly.
Dillon looked up, his cold gaze fixed on the man. Baxter, are you sure this is Estelle’s report?”
Baxter Redmond, one of Dillon’s friends and also the heir of the largest private hospital in the country, rolled his eyes in response.
“Dill, you can have questions about your look that may not be as outstanding as mine, but don’t doubt my skills. That said, with the way you’re scowling, what disgusting thing did Estelle do this time?”
As he spoke, he craned his neck, trying to sneak a peek.
When it came to Estelle, Dillon was always tight–lipped. It was not that Baxter had the guts to pry anyway.
Dillon clenched the leather folder in his hand with a sharp gaze.
“Are you sure about this?”
Catching the skepticism in his tone, Baxter sighed and raised both hands in surrender. “Our hospital is the best in the country, with all the top doctors. How could there be a mistake?”
“Are you certain it’s not misdiagnosed?”
Baxter rolled his eyes again. “If there was a misdiagnosis, we’d fire them on the spot and compensate the patient ten times the loss.”
Seeing that Dillon had lost his composure, Baxter couldn’t resist his curiosity. “Come on, tell me. What did Estelle do?”
Dillon quickly gathered his things and glanced at the door. “It’s getting late. You can leave
now,”
Seeing that he was being dismissed, Baxter flicked his bangs in disdain. “It’s fine if you don’t want to say it. I’m not interested anyway.”
He snorted and turned to leave. After walking several steps, he didn’t hear Dillon calling him back like he expected. He looked back and saw Dillon was still focused on the documents. He felt a little uncomfortable.
Baxter really wanted to know what Estelle had done. Judging by Dillon’s expression, it seemed like Estelle had done something shocking.
Estelle was brought to a villa.
This had to be the 18th birthday gift her eldest brother, Ethan Sawford, gave to Timothy, right?
When she had begged Timothy to bring her here back then, he had refused. Now that she was about to die, her wish was finally coming true.
She smiled bitterly and quickly returned to her indifferent self. “Mr. Sawford, did you bring me here to lock me up?
Timothy walked past her into the villa, surveying the area before turning back to look at her.
“I don’t believe you’ll honestly divorce Dillon. You must have some other motive. Before Dillon officially divorces you, you’ll stay here, and you’re not allowed to leave.”
“Fine,” she agreed without hesitation. But then, she reminded him, “Then, you should remind Dillon to sign the papers quickly.
Timothy tilted his head, looking at her in disbelief. Why did it seem like she wanted to divorce
Dillon before he did?
Noticing that he was lost in thought, she waved her hand in front of him and then looked at him suspiciously. “Mr. Sawford, did you hear me?”
His face darkened. “I’ll make sure you divorce Dillon no matter what. You stay here and don’t
try anything funny.”
“Don’t worry.” Estelle smiled again and turned to look at the butler. “May I ask where my room is?”
The butler, Wayne Clark, who had never met her before, instinctively looked to Timothy for guidance.
Although he had never seen Estelle, he knew about the Sawford family’s affairs. Everyone in
the Sawford family disliked Estelle. On the other hand, they were very fond of the poverty- stricken student–Alison–they sponsored.
Seeing her for the first time, Wayne couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for her.
She looked so thin, like a fragile porcelain doll that needed to be handled with care, or else she would break at the slightest touch.
So fragile.
“Wayne, take her upstairs. Keep an eye on her. She can’t leave the villa for any reason.”
Wayne quickly snapped back to attention and nodded. “Understood, Mr. Sawford.”
Timothy looked at Estelle again, warning her, “Don’t try anything funny, or I have ways of making you disappear.”
After leaving those harsh words, he turned and left the villa without looking back. He couldn’t stay away from Alison for too long. She’d be scared alone in the hospital.
Estelle didn’t care at all about him leaving. In fact, she was quite satisfied with the place.
No one should disturb her for now. Before she passed away, she wanted to capture all her inspiration and leave stunning jewels for this world.
