Chapter 80
Estelle lowered her gaze, her long, thick lashes casting a shadow over her eyes, hiding the true
emotions behind them.
Unable to gauge her feelings, Madison spoke up. She said, “Stella, if you don’t want to see these annoying people, we could leave and go abroad right now. How about it?”
“There’s no need.”
Estelle lifted her head, her face breaking into a bright smile. She sincerely thanked Marcus, Thank you so much. If it weren’t for your timely intervention, I might have already gotten
into trouble.”
Marcus smiled and shook his head. “Ms. Sawford, you’re too kind. I was simply following my boss’s orders. If you want to thank someone, you should thank my boss.”
At the mention of Marcus‘ mysterious boss, Estelle’s curiosity was piqued.
After a brief moment of thought, Estelle asked, “Could I meet him?”
“Well…”
Marcus hesitated, clearly uneasy.
Not wanting to push, Estelle quickly handed him the things she’d baked that morning. “These are croissants I made this morning. They taste pretty good.”
Marcus accepted them graciously. “You’re too kind. My boss loves the things you make, Ms.
Sawford.”
With the gift in hand, Marcus discreetly took his leave.
Madison waved her hand in front of Estelle’s face
“Snap out of it. Stop thinking about the villa owner. We should focus on what’s next. What’s the deal with the Sawford family? Why are they trying to make a big fuss out of such a small amount of money?”
Estelle took a deep breath, her brows furrowing in thought.
After a moment, she smiled.
“Help me look into the Sawford family’s finances“.
Madison immediately agreed, not hesitating for a second.
She wouldn’t rest until she exposed the Sawford family’s dirty secrets.
Meanwhile, at the Sawford residence, after they returned, Bobby impatiently asked, “Ethan, he was just a butler. Why were you so scared of him?”
Chapter 80
Ethan sat down and observed the expressions of the three family members.
Understanding their discontent, Ethan sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose in
frustration.
“Those bodyguards are all mercenaries. It’s hard to find that many mercenaries in the entire country. This person’s identity is not simple. I’m worried they might be Estelle’s backer.”
Timothy gasped. “So, he’s her sugar daddy?”
Ethan shot him a disapproving look.
“Stop spreading rumors. Even if she has a sugar daddy, you need to find evidence before you say anything.”
Timothy frowned, casting a resentful glance at his brother.
Seeing that they had completely ignored him, Alison exchanged a subtle look with Bobby.
Bobby suddenly cleared his throat twice.
He straightened up and said sternly, “You all heard what that wretch said today. Alison has grown up in our family. She’s practically one of us. Your mother liked her very much and even mentioned adopting her. I’ve decided…”
“Wait,” Timothy interrupted, eyeing Alison with suspicion before looking at Bobby.
“Mom said that? I never heard about it.”
Bobby’s expression immediately darkened.
“What, do you think I can’t have private conversations with your mother without your knowledge?”
Seeing Bobby’s anger, Ethan glanced at Timothy and stepped in to smooth things over.
“Timothy didn’t mean it that way. But Alison has always been our sister. We don’t need to officially adopt her. This situation works fine.”
“Ethan…”
Alison’s eyes
welled with tears as she looked at the two men with a pitiful expression.
How infuriating!
Ethan and Timothy were clearly afraid she would take the Sawford family’s wealth!
They had finally managed to drive Estelle away, so naturally, they didn’t want her to show up
as a “Sawford” now.
But Bobby’s attitude was forceful.
“I took care of the adoption papers a long time ago, but your mother passed away before she

could sign them.”
With that, Bobby instructed the butler to bring the adoption papers from earlier.
