Chapter 81
Staring at the yellowed adoption papers, Ethan pursed his lips in silence.
He could make Alison his sister in name, but she could never truly become part of the Sawford family.
His expression grew colder by the second.
Eventually, he stood up abruptly.
“Alison is not a child anymore. What would people say if you adopted her now?”
“Exactly, Dad. She’s way too old for that. People would laugh at us. Anyway, I’ve got stuff to do -see ya.”
With that, Timothy bolted.
Ethan also excused himself, saying he had work at the company.
Soon, only Bobby and Alison were left in the living room.
Facing Bobby’s dark expression, Alison offered a gentle smile and shook her head. “Dad, I’m doing fine as I am. Please don’t get upset with Ethan and Timothy because of me.”
Her maturity only made Bobby more disappointed in his sons.
He huffed angrily.
“Those three are all useless. Don’t worry, Alison I will make you my daughter in every sense
of the word.”
With that promise, he handed her a card, telling her to freely spend his money.
Alison didn’t hesitate to accept it.
Coincidentally, she had been invited to a charity gala to perform a dance. She was determined to shine and, ideally, win Dillon over on the spot.
The next day, Estelle received the same invitation
When she learned that the Sawford and Waverly families were also invited, her enthusiasm
faded.
After all, Timothy was like a mad dog, and Alison would definitely attend an event that catered to her vanity.
And where Alison went, Timothy would surely follow.
Noticing her hesitation, Madison suggested, “Why don’t you go with Seth?”
Estelle immediately shot her a glare.

“Seth’s busy with a critical stage of his experiment. I’ll go on my own. Besides, Mr. Glover wanted to introduce me to a potential partner. If it works out, we might be able to collaborate on the cancer treatment drug.‘
Madison blinked, confused.
Since when was there another potential partner?
“Who?” she asked.
“I don’t know yet.” Estelle shook her head. “Mr Glover only said it’s a big client. If the deal goes through, we won’t have to worry about pressure from the Waverly or Sawford families.”
Madison’s eyes lit up instantly. “That sounds like a huge opportunity. Do you want me to go with you?”
“Sure.”
After thinking it over, Estelle agreed.
As soon as she said yes, Madison whipped out her tablet and called in the stylists to get Estelle -ready.
They were going to make her the most stunning woman at the charity gala–no way was Alison stealing the spotlight.
Soon enough, it was the night of the charity gala
Estelle stepped out in a white camellia gown, paired with a string of pearls. Elegant and poised, she exuded a regal charm.
She was breathtaking and impossible to ignore.
The moment she stepped out of the car, all eyes turned to her.
Even Dillon, who had been chatting with guests, couldn’t help but glance her way, visibly taken aback.
Tonight, Estelle was undeniably the most beautiful woman in the room.
Noticing Dillon’s gaze, Madison smiled with satisfaction.
All that money had been worth it.
“Dillion is looking at you,” she whispered in Estelle’s ear.
The smile on Estelle’s face vanished instantly.
She frowned slightly, pretended not to notice, and walked right past him.
Dillon didn’t approach her either. He quickly looked away and resumed his conversation, as if nothing had happened.

Within half an hour, Estelle had already turned down a lot of men who were eager to get her
contact info.
However, not everyone took rejection well.
There was a man standing in front of her now with bleached yellow hair..
Not only had he dyed his hair that awful shade, but he was also wearing a white suit.
He ended up looking washed out, ugly, and tacky–completely out of place and lacking any real style.
Estelle frowned, her eyes full of irritation.
