Chapter 87
Dillon was speechless.
Seriously?
Seeing that he still had no intention of letting go, Estelle shoved him hard.
Her one hand was still covering her nose, while the other flailed behind her, like she was searching for a weapon–anything she could use to hit him if needed.
Dillon noticed the subtle move but didn’t take it seriously.
He raised a hand and gently stroked her chin, the way a lover might–surprisingly tender.
A shiver ran down her spine. Her voice trembled. ‘Dillon, what are you doing? I’m warning you -don’t try anything. I’m not the same Estelle you used to bully.”
Before she even finished speaking, a cold hand suddenly brushed against her cheek.
She shuddered again, instinctively pulling back.
Staring at him with alarm, she demanded, “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“It hurt, didn’t it?” he said suddenly, out of nowhere.
Estelle froze.
Dillon’s brows drew tightly together, and for a moment, there was something almost like pain
in his eyes.
Was she seeing things?
“Estelle, it’s been five years. Not once did it cross your mind to come see me?”
Her expression instantly iced over.
A cold laugh escaped her lips as she snapped, “Thanks to you barging in that day, Lended up bedridden for God knows how long.”
“I…”
Seeing how completely shut off she was, how she wouldn’t even spare him a glance, Dillon felt an inexplicable wave of loss.
He lowered his eyes to keep her from seeing his expression.
Then a bitter smile pulled at his lips.
“What’s the point of saying all this? Are you trying to make me feel guilty?”
“You?” She laughed again,

“Dillon, please don’t flatter yourself. If you had even a shred of a conscience, I wouldn’t have come that close to dying. But…”
She narrowed her eyes, a calculating gleam flashing through them.
“If you really do feel bad, why don’t we settle this like adults? You can wire me a little money as compensation. How’s that sound?”
She blinked at him innocently, fully expecting him to reject her on the spot.
“Alright,” Dillon agreed without missing a beat.
Estelle was stunned. She didn’t expect him to agree.
Watching him actually pull out his phone, she panicked.
“Okay, stop! I was joking! Don’t take it so seriously.”
She grabbed his arm and tried to force him to put the phone away.
Then, trying to play it cool, she added, “Forget it. Honestly, it was kind of a blessing in disguise. Seth ended up developing a cancer treatment drug because of it. From now on, let’s just go our separate ways and never cross paths again.”
She turned to walk away, aiming for a clean, cool exit.
Seth? A flicker of something sharp flashed in Dillon’s eyes.
In the next instant, he yanked her back and pinned her against the wall.
His eyes were dark, intense, and so deep they felt suffocating.
Estelle instinctively trembled, suddenly unsure.
Swallowing hard, she warned, “Dillon, don’t you dare. If something happens to me, you won’t get away with it.”
He let out a low laugh and leaned in closer.
His warm breath hit her face, and she started shaking.
Was she afraid of him?
Already on edge, Dillon felt her rejection like a slap to the face. His expression turned even
colder.
He grabbed her chin, forcing her to meet his eyes
“Are you not jealous of me and Alison?”
So, that was what this was about?
Estelle didn’t hesitate. “Relax. I have absolutely no feelings for you. If you marry Alison, I’ll

send you my best wishes–hell, I’ll even give you a huge wedding gift.”
Instead of making him happy, that answer made his expression turn darker.
Was there anything she could say that wouldn’t piss him off?
Estelle could feel her breathing becoming shallow, her head starting to spin. All she could do was stay silent and brace herself for the worst.
