Chapter 90
Carter’s heart skipped a beat.
He instinctively shook his head. “Of course not. We’ve been working together just fine, and that won’t change.”
“But…”
Carter glanced in the direction Estelle had gone, still uneasy.
His wife’s family was also in the pharmaceutical business, and he was worried Estelle might hold a grudge.
“I’ll be working with Estelle to make sure the cancer treatment drug becomes affordable for everyone,” Dillon spoke up suddenly.
Carter blinked, surprised.
But he quickly let go of his doubts.
After all, everyone knew how deeply Estelle had once loved Dillon, even going so far as to drug him to get him. Now that Dillon was willing to lower himself and make amends, Estelle should naturally be happy to accept.
With that, Carter smiled again.
“Mr. Waverly, I have complete faith in you and Mrs. Waverly. I’ll be waiting for your good
news.”
With that, he wisely left.
As Carter walked away, Dillon’s expression darkened immediately.
He called out to Zayne, “Get Baxter here.”
Meanwhile, Estelle was wandering aimlessly when a hand suddenly reached out and pulled her
into a corner.
Again?
Estelle glanced at the person who had grabbed her. “Dillon, you…
“Alison?” She froze for a moment, then asked in confusion, “Do you need something from me?”
Alison’s gaze was vicious, as though she wanted to eat her alive.
“Disappointed to see it’s me instead of Dillon, huh?”

Estelle quickly calined herself, lowering her voice to warn, “This is a charity gala, and there are cameras everywhere. Do you really want to make a scene?”
Alison’s glare didn’t waver.
Soon, Estelle realized something was off about Alison’s demeanor. She reminded her again, Timothy and Dillon are still outside. Aren’t you worried they’ll discover your true nature?”
“Shut up!” Alison growled.
Her hands balled into fists, and her gaze grew increasingly ferocious.
That look was terrifying.
Estelle grew more alert, her eyes scanning the surroundings, looking for the right moment to
escape.
Noticing her movements, Alison sneered. “Dillon’s only curious because you didn’t die. I already have his child, Estelle. Do you really think you can steal him away from me?”
Estelle smiled, her bright eyes fearless as she met Alison’s gaze. “Yeah, you’ve got a kid, so you should feel secure. Why are you telling me all this now?”
Alison was at a loss for words.
When Alison saw the mocking expression on Estelle’s exquisitely beautiful face, her anger flared again. She raised her hand to slap Estelle.
But before her hand could land on Estelle’s face, it was grabbed.
Estelle disdainfully pushed Alison’s hand away, sneering. “Ms. Harrington, you should save your energy. I don’t have time to play with you.”
With that, she turned to leave.
There was no way Alison would let Estelle leave unscathed.
A flash of malice crossed Alison’s eyes. Before Estelle could react, she suddenly lunged at a nearby waiter.
The waiter’s tray was filled with champagne glasses.
“Estelle, no!”
Hearing Alison’s voice, Estelle instinctively looked over.
“Is she trying to frame me?” Estelle thought and gave an ambiguous smile.
“Alison, I’m not the heroine of some melodrama. Do you really think this trick will work on me?”
