Book 2 Chapter 9.
Leo POV.
I wake up feeling pain in my jaw and I can’t move my arms. I look up and see I’m in some kind
of room. I’m secured to the floor. I see a wall filled with different weapons and tools. Great, I’m
in a torture room. My throats tightens no doubt the same one my dad died in.
Ironic really, he tried to kill Courtney and Amelia and I was going to kill Amelia, then I got to
know her and knew I couldn’t do it.
The door opens and I hear boots on the red concrete floor. I look up and see Kaden and Havoc
walking towards me with Courtney and the Bratva queen Katya behind them.
“So this fucker is Storm’s kid? Must take after his mom.” Havoc says and I just look at him before I look at Courtney and she is looking at me blankly.
“I’m sorry.” I say to her and she just watches me.
“You can kill me, but I hope you don’t.” I say and Kaden moves to punch me.
“Don’t. Let me speak with him.” Courtney says, and she pulls up a chair and places it in front
of me. She has kind eyes, but I know this woman is calculated and cunning, so I know I need
to be cautious. But what’s the point? I’m going to tell them everything and if they decide to kill
me, then so be it.
“Tell me, Leo, what is it you know about your dad?” Courtney asks me and I sigh and look at
her.
“That he was a good man. Well, towards me he was. He was planning on taking me away from my mom. You see, my mom was a drug addict and a w***e. She didn’t give a s**t about
me, only herself. I was left alone pretty much all the time, left to fend for myself. Then my dad
came to see me and told me he had one job to do and then he would be back to take me away
from there and I could live with him.” I say and Kaden scoffs and I look at him.
“What a saint.” He says, and I shake my head and look back at Courtney, who is watching me
intently.
“I take it he never did, did he?” she asks and I shake my head.
“Yeah, you killed him when I was five. I was left with that b***h until she died when I was eight, an accidental overdose. I was then placed in foster. There I met other boys like me, and we became a family. Until we aged out. Then I went looking for answers as to what happened to

my dad.” I tell her and she nods her head solemnly. I can see guilt in her eyes.
“Then what happened?” she asks me and I look at her.

“Then I heard that you killed him, no doubt in this very room. Because he tried to kill you and Amelia. So I became angry. I wanted you and Kaden to feel the pain I felt. I was going to kill your daughter.” I tell her and Kaden moves fast and punches me and keeps punching me. Screaming, he would f*****g kill me.
“Kaden, enough!” Courtney says, and Kaden is pulled away and I spit blood to the floor.
“That is not entirely true. Yes, I killed Storm, but that was because he was going to kidnap Amelia and sell into trafficking. He was going to do the same with me. So I did what any
mother would do. I protected my child, my newborn daughter. Storm was troubled, he was
obsessive.” She tells me and I just look at her, stunned.
“So he didn’t try to kill you both?” I ask in shock, and she shakes her head.
“No, sweetheart, he didn’t. I’m sorry Leo. I really am, but you see you do anything for your child,
you do anything for those you love, you don’t hurt them.” She says and I feel a sob building in
my chest as I remember how my dad was with me.
“He loved me. He was going to save me by hurting you. I’m sorry, Courtney, I really am,” I say
as the first tear falls. All my adult life, I believed Courtney killed him because he tried to kill
her and Amelia.
“You said you were planning on killing our Lia. What changed?” Katya asks, her Russian
accent thick as she watches me.
“I got to know her from afar. I could see the same loneliness inside of her as I saw in myself. She is not what I thought she would be. She is down to earth, kind, gentle, loving. She is a good person. So when she tattooed me a few weeks ago, and I watched her and looked into her eyes, I knew I couldn’t hurt her. So I have followed her to get to know her. It’s a damn good thing I followed her yesterday when I did, otherwise she would be dead in the street.” I tell them and they all look down, knowing I’m right.
“How do you know it is Gabriel Torres that shot my daughter?” Back to the questions.
“The bullet was my clue.” I tell her and Courtney looks from me to Katya and she walks away before returning with the duffle bag.
“Care to explain why this bag is full of different rounds?” Havoc asks, and I sigh.
“The man who created the bullets is my brother from foster. They call him …”
Book 2 Chapter 9.
“Death,” Katya says and I look at her and nod my head with a gulp and she swears in Russian.
“We have been looking for him for some time. We wanted him to work for us. He is a genius. But it looks like he is supplying to the Torres family and we can’t have that. So I take it. It was Death that told you it was Gabriel?” Katya says and I nod my head.
“Yeah, after I pulled my gun on him and told him some home truths.” I say and Katya smirks
and nods her head in approval at my methods.
“I like you. You have guts to go against family. Just like me and Courtney did.” She says, and I
chuckle as I look at Courtney, who is still watching me.
“I had nothing to do with Torres. I can give my word on that. I want to find him and end him for what he did. I have feelings for your daughter and I will never try to hurt her. Yes, I came here with the intention of killing her, but I can’t. I want to protect her. I am falling for her. Please let me make this right. Not only for me, but for what my dad tried to do. All I’m asking is for a chance to prove I am nothing like my ol man. I will bring you Torres’s head. No one goes for what is mine.” I say with as much conviction as I can muster.
Courtney’s eyes soften, and she smirks at me.
“What do you think we should do with him?” Courtney asks the others just as the door opens and I turn to see who it is. A man with the same coloured eyes as Lia and Courtney walks in
with a woman with red curly hair.
“I say we let him find Torres,” the woman says and I look at her and she nods her head once at me. I gulp, knowing who she is. Striker, Courtney’s mom. So that means the man to her left is
Wolf.
“You Storm’s kid?” He asks and I nod my head and he nods once and walks away. Ok then.
“We can’t let him live. f**k, listen to yourselves. He coached our son in order to get close to Lia. He is a f*****g stalker.” Havoc is losing it when Katya looks at him. Steel in her gaze.
“I remember you stalked me too, before I gave in. So enough. I say we let him. I say he lives.” Katya says and Havoc looks put out.
“I only stalked you because you know how much I love you.” He says in a baby like tone.
“So does he. If you can’t see he loves Lia, then you are blind.” Courtney says and I look at her and nod my head.
“I do, I love her, Please let me make this right.” I say and Kaden stands behind his wife, he is glaring at me before he looks down at his wife and his features soften.

“Ok, but if Lia doesn’t want you near her, then you back off. Find Torres.” He says, and I sigh in
relief and nod my head.
“Thank you.” I say and Courtney moves to release my wrists and I stand up, cracking my back.
“For what it’s worth, Leo, I am sorry. Please don’t hurt my daughter. If you do, I will kill you,”
she says before she walks away. Time to find Gabriel Torres and make him cry like the b***h
he is.
