I’m in so much shock. When I saw Chief, I saw recognition, surprise, and relief in his eyes. I get out of the truck with Kaden’s help as some of the club members surround us.
“Venom, Chief has sent word for you both to wait in the bar. Miss, do you need us to do
anything for you?” The man asks, but as I look at him, his eyes widen and I know why. I look like my momma. But as I take in his appearance, I notice he isn’t wearing a cut, he is wearing
a black suit.
“I’m sorry, but where is your cut? I mean you no offence, it’s just that …” I ask him and he
smiles at me.
“No offence taken. I’m not wearing a cut because I was away on other business.” He says and
I look at Kaden and he nods his head. So this must be a regular occurrence. The mafia side of
the operation. But didn’t Kaden say Chief has nothing to do with the mafia side of things?
“Don’t worry, Court. Fabio is a good guy and is loyal to your family.” Kaden tells me and I just
nod hesitantly as I step back towards Kaden and he places his arm around me.
“Ok, then. I have some bags in the back but they can …” Fabio clicks his fingers and men in
cuts move towards the truck and grab my things and walk back inside the clubhouse. Which
looking at it, my mouth hangs open.
It’s a damn mansion, all white and polished. It’s like something out of a movie set. With its
columns and big windows. Pruned trees and hedges. It’s something a billionaire would live in.
It is gorgeous.
“Please follow me.” Fabio says with a bow and I look at Kaden and he smiles at me, taking my
hand in his and he helps me up the steps and towards the black front door. I walk past some
men and women as I enter the mansion.
The place is brimmed with grandeur. This is definitely not like a clubhouse. It is something the
President of the United States would live in. It’s warm and cosy with the décor. I see family pictures hanging on the walls. The floor is dark, hard wood. There is a crystal chandelier in the
hallway.
I see one picture in particular and move towards it. Tears line my eyes. There she is, my momma sitting on Chief’s lap smiling big for the camera. Sitting beside him is an older lady.
She must have been his wife. Then there is an older version of my momma standing behind

her father with a handsome man and a younger boy sitting on the older woman’s knee.
“It’s ok Courtney. They would be so proud of you.” Kaden says and I nod, gulping down my emotions as I trace each person with my finger.
“These are my family.” I say as I look at the younger version of my momma. And she is so happy in this picture. She may have been about five or six years–old. I turn and walk into the huge living room that has the bar.
This place feels like home. Like I am meant to be here. That my life is going to get better now that I have found a piece of my family. Chief and I are the last members alive of our family. That is a hard realisation to swallow. I touch my belly and feel my daughter move under my hand.
“Can I offer you a drink? Soda, tea, coffee, juice?” Fabio asks and I nod my head at his question.
“Soda would be great, thank you.” I say to him and he smiles gently at me and pours me a drink. I look around the room and see the members all watching me curiously.

The rumble of bikes enters my ears, and I look at Kaden and stand up. My heart is beating out
my chest. When I hear the impatient steps of heavy boots on the hardwood floor. I look towards the door and the man stops in his tracks.
“Chief, I would like to introduce you to your great granddaughter Courtney Nevaeh Morrison.” Kaden says and before I can say anything, Chief is in front of me and I’m in his arms.
“Oh sweetheart, I have been looking for you and momma for years. Where is your momma? Where is my Katie?” He asks and I sob into his chest.
“Grandpa, I’m so sorry. She is gone, my momma is gone.” I break down in his strong arms and
he shakes before he pulls back and looks at me with so much heartbreak on his face. A tear leaves his eye.
“How? When?” he chokes out and I break further, seeing the big strong man breakdown for his granddaughter.
“She died at Christmas. She had cancer grandpa. She left behind so many secrets. I’m sorry I should have come sooner, but I didn’t know about you until a few days ago. Momma never told
me anything about our family. I’m sorry grandpa that I had to tell you this,” I say to him and he
crushes me in another hug as I completely breakdown. Finally, grieving for my momma
properly. I didn’t have time to before or after the funeral. My life has been a whirlwind recently.
“Shhh, little one. It’s ok. You are safe, you are with family now. God above, I have missed so

much. I’ve got you both, little one. Always and forever.” He says and we just hold each other as best as we can with my bump in the way.
He breaks the hug and holds my face in his hands. I look into his eyes and he smiles at me.
“You are like her in so many ways, but your eyes. I would know those eyes anywhere.” His thumbs rub my tears away as he leans down and kisses each of my cheeks and offers me a
small smile.
“Venom, thank you for bringing me, my great granddaughter. We have things to discuss, but
right now, I need to spend time with her. But what you will do is get Wolf on the phone and tell
him I want to see him.” Chief says and I look at Kaden’s face and he is pale but nods his head
anyway.
“Oh, and Venom, you and I will be having words soon. Don’t think I don’t know who knocked my Courtney up. But I will deal with you at the same time as I deal with Wolf.” Chief says and I
hide the chuckle as Chief guides me towards the sofa.
dad and Kaden
“What will you do with my I ask chief as we both sit down and Chief raises
an eyebrow at me.
“Kaden, hey? Do you think I don’t know about that w***e Chloe? I’m not the president of the biggest MC in the world for just my good looks and charming wit. Nothing gets past me, well not unless you are family, of course. I should have known sooner. Your momma covered her tracks too damn well. I am both relieved she escaped, but saddened that I didn’t know where she or you where.” Chief says and I nod my head sadly.
I look at Chief, and he is handsome for his age. He has greying long and thick hair and is strong and tall, packed with muscles but has kind eyes and a mischievous smile. His jaw could cut glass and his nose is proud and straight. He has the same eyes as my momma. My momma and her momma took after him. We all have his features, but I have my dad’s eyes.
“All that matters now is you and your baby are safe. I finally have what remains of my family safely here with me, so I won’t be too harsh with Venom or Wolf. But I will be with the Brothers Of Mayhem. I don’t know how much you know about our family, so I will tell you when you have settled in. I don’t want you overwhelmed. This deserves a grand celebration. You are home where you should have been since you were born. Courtney. Welcome home, princess.”
