Chapter 33.

Kaden POV.

Do I feel sorry for Wolf? Yeah, I do. To hear the words from Courtney that the girl he raised from birth is not his daughter or suspected to not be. That must down right rip the guys heart out. I could never begin to understand how he feels. All we can do is be there for him when he

learns the truth, no matter how ugly it is.

Wolf is not a bad guy and from what I saw with his interactions with Chloe before Courtney

came back, he was a good father. So much better than mine ever was.

My dad favoured the belt more than actually sitting down and talking, it was his way or no

way at all. He ruled his club with an iron fist, and it cost him my mom and me in the end.

He got in a wreck when I was sixteen and even though I was sad because he was my dad, a

small part of me was happy that he died. The man was a monster, he not only beat me but my

mom too. He died because of me.

I had enough of watching him f**k club whores in front of my mom and then beating my mom

when she would tell him it was over. He was a weak man. So, I hit him back until my knuckles

where bloody and bruised when he was drunk. He stormed out and threatened that if I were

there when he got back, he would shoot me. That was the night he died, and I took over as

president two years later.

My club Satan’s Reapers has been doing better over the years since he died, I know that

makes me a horrible person, but he had it coming.

So, I do sympathise with Wolf, he is a good man and doesn’t deserve to me made a fool of,

just because he may or may not have stepped out on his wife and newborn daughter. No one

deserves to raise a child for twenty years for then to find out you may not even be the father.

That would destroy the biggest and strongest of people.

Wolf is quiet and I know that this is a lot to take in, hell it is a lot for all of us to take in. But Courtney is right, the sooner we get Michelle and Chloe the sooner he will find out the truth.

Talking about Michelle ever since Wolf revealed her name and her little story, Courtney, and

Chief look like they have both seen ghosts.

“Courtney baby, what is it?” I have asked her this a few times, but she is deep in thought rubbing her thumb gently on her bump. I noticed she does this a lot when she is thinking.

snap my fingers in front of her face, and she blinks and gasps for breath and looks up at me.

Chapter 33.

“Hey, it’s ok, you were deep in thought. What is going on?” I ask her and she looks from me to her grandpa, and she nods her head once and I look at Chief and he takes his phone out dialling a number as he leaves the room. We all watch him walk out as he talks to whoever it is no doubt Fabio.

“It is not important. What is important is that we grab both Chloe and Michelle. Give them a few days to think they have won. But keep eyes on them. When I am released then you guys take them. I’m not sure where you will take them, but I want them. They have a few things to answer for.” She says looking at her lap again biting the inside of her lip and fidgeting with her

fingers.

“Who is this, Michelle? When her name was mentioned you and Chief both stiffened like you

know her.” Havoc asks and I glare at him telling him to basically stop with the damn

questions. Courtney chuckles shaking her head.

“When the time is right, I will reveal who grandpa and I think she is, and how she is connected

to all of this.” Courtney says and I nod my head at her words. Courtney then yawns.

“Ok guys, let her sleep. She has been through the ringer today and she needs a shower.” I say

to the three of the men in the room. They all look at me sheepishly.

“Right, of course. You staying here with her?” Wolf asks and I smile at him raising an eyebrow.

“If Courtney will allow it, then yeah I’m staying with her and my daughter.” I say to him as I grip

his shoulder. “They will both be safe, I give you, my word.” I tell him and he nods his head

before he looks at Courtney.

She is smiling gently at him her cheeks a beautiful shade of pink.

“No funny business, she needs rest Venom, and I mean it. Don’t forget you are in a damn hospital.” He grumbles out shaking his head and I make a face at him.

“I would never do something like that,” I say to him feigning hurt and he chuckles as he stands

and kisses Courtney on the head before he caresses her cheek.

“I love you Spitfire. I will see you in the morning. But if he pisses you off before then, there is a gun in the bedside drawer.” Wolf says with a cheeky grin and a wink and Courtney chuckles

rolling her eyes at him.

“Trust me I can handle him without the need to shoot him. Go dad you still need to rest. I love you too.” She says to her dad, and he gives me one last look before he walks to the door.

Storm comes over next and gives her a kiss on her head. I stiffen but I know he is only looking

out for her.

Chapter 33.

“I can stay if you need me to?” He asks hopefully and Courtney shakes her head.

“No, but thank you. keep an eye on my dad for me please Storm. You know what he is like, make sure he is taking his pain meds and gets a decent sleep.” Courtney says and Wolf grumbles about not needing his pain meds. I smile and cough to hide the chuckle.

Havoc doesn’t come close to Courtney and just looks at her.

“Good night, Havoc.” She says to him, and he salutes and winks at her. Courtney chuckles at

him.

“See you in the morning doll face. Take it easy, y’hear.” He says and Courtney waves as they

leave the room. I turn to speak to her when Chief come back in. Bloody hell will they just go

home already. It is then that I notice the plastic bag in his hand.

“I forgot to pack your toiletries, so I just bought them. You have a few changes of pyjamas in

the duffle and underwear. Oh, and clothes to come home in when you get discharged. Venom I

am counting on you to keep her safe in here and no funny business, got it?” Chief say and

Courtney snorts on a laugh and quickly reigns it in.

“Yes, sir, I got it. Nothing will happen to her and I’m not that desperate to do that kind of thing

here in the hospital. I do have respect.” I tell him and he narrows his eyes at me.

“Hmmm, that remains to be seen Venom, nevertheless. She is your responsibility. I will be back in the morning. Get some sleep sweetheart, you have had one hell of a day. I love you and good night.” Chief says before he kisses Courtney on her head, and he gives me one last scathing look of don’t f**k this up before he leaves and gently closes the door behind him.

I walk to the door and pull the blinds down and release a deep sigh. I look at the woman I love

in her bed, and she is looking at me.

“Ok, let’s get you to the bathroom so you can shower.” I say to her as I move closer to her, and

she shakes her head.

“I can do it on my own.” She is stubborn as a damn mule and twice as nasty when she is

hungry, tired, and just being a cranky ass.

“Oh, ok. Go right ahead.” I say folding my arms over my chest as I watch her. She struggles and I wait for her to ask. Courtney has been too damn independent for too long and is so used to doing things on her own. Long before her momma passed away.

“Kaden, could you help me please. I’m all tangled and don’t want to rip this out of my hand.” I sigh and walk closer to her dropping my arms.

Chapter 33.

I reach her and she looks pitiful. The blanket tangled with the line and the oxygen tube. How the hell did she do this?

I make quick work being careful to not pull anything out. I sit her up on the edge of the bed and look around for the duffle bag.

“Sit tight.” I say to her and move to the bag and unzip it and rummage around grabbing her pyjamas, slippers, underwear. Chief even packed a towel and her hairbrush. He did in fact pack her toiletries. He must have been panicking to get to her.

So, I grab everything I can and walk to the bathroom placing everything down to help her. Walking back into the room Courtney is already up on her feet. I gasp and move fast to get to
