Chapter 4.
1427 Words
Kaden POV. When did my life get so f*****g complicated? Oh, that’s right when I woke up in the arms of another woman. The woman who is not the one I love. This b***h Chloe is the bane of my life. She is the daughter of the president of the Devil’s Army, Hunter Wolf Harrison. I don’t remember much from the night I slept with her, but I know I did and I know Courtney, my beautiful little spitfire, saw us. It was only the next morning that I realised just how badly I f****d up. I have regretted it ever since. I went to Courtney’s house to speak to her, but her momma pulled a gun on me and told me to stay away unless I wanted to end up dead. Her momma chewed my ass out. But I stayed in the shadows, watching. I saw glimpses of my spitfire, and she looked devastated, thin and pale. Not like how she used to look. Her eyes looked dead. I tried to call her so many times until I realised she had changed her number. Stalked her socials and they were deleted. The day they left was the day I received a call from the mother club that my club is associated with. No one knows we are associated with the biggest MC in the world. The Devil’s Warriors. My club is called Satan’s Reapers. The president known as Chief had called all the sister clubs under his to search for two people. We had no clue what these people had done, but it made Chief nervous. By the time I got back to try to speak to Courtney, she and her momma had split. They just vanished, covered their tracks and I have been secretly looking for the last five months. Chloe, however, is a f*****g leech, because she is a club princess. She requires protection. She was pregnant with my child, or so she says, then she suffered a miscarriage. She was pregnant. I went to the scan and had scheduled a DNA test to be certain it was mine. But she lost it before the test could be performed. Since then, she won’t leave me alone. She says it is my fault that she lost our child and I know it was, she was attacked while I was on club business. So I made a promise to her. I would stay by her side to offer her comfort and to get her back to her father. I know she is pushing to be my ole lady, but that won’t happen. There was only one woman I would have accepted, and she was gone. Courtney was my ride or die, and I f****d it up massively. She deserved better; she deserves someone who won’t f**k up and sleep with someone else even if I can’t remember that much. I know Chloe must have spiked me, but I don’t have the evidence to bring the case to Chief. So I am watching her like a damn hawk and I never accept anything from her. Hell, I won’t let her touch me. All I see is the disappointment in Courtney’s eyes. That guts me, I deeply regret everything. Not being man enough to tell Chloe to f**k off, to chase my girl to the end of the world and beg on my knees for another chance. But it looks like fate has other plans for me. Especially now that I am looking for these people that Chief is so desperate to find. All I know is that it is two women. We only had an old picture to go off. She looks familiar, younger, but I can’t think where I have seen her before. I kick the stand of my bike down and wait for Chloe to get off the back of it. There are a lot of people at the clubhouse today, so it must be a party. Which is nothing unusual for our community. Any excuse to get wasted. Chloe is pretty much ignored as she walks towards the doors. “Daddy!” she shrieks and I wince as she runs to Wolf, but it’s not Wolf I’m looking at. My heart is hammering in my chest and I gasp as I look into the green-gold eyes of the woman I destroyed. She is in shock, looking at me. Her eyes are wide, but I look her over and do a double take at the bump that is slightly protruding. “You’re pregnant? You’re pregnant and you didn’t f*****g tell me? Is it even mine?” I shout, and she looks frozen in fear. I step closer to her and she snaps out of it and takes a step back. Before something dark takes over her features. “Courtney. Tell me …” She punches me in the face and I stagger back and everyone goes quiet. “Do I look like that w***e over there? No, so f**k you Kaden, this baby is mine and is nothing to do with you. You lost your rights when you f****d that.” She screams, pointing at Chloe. “b***h, who the f**k do you think you are punching? He is my man!” Chloe screams, but Courtney turns to face her. And Chloe goes quiet, her eyes comically wide and her mouth open. “I told you once, he is all yours. I don’t want tarnished goods. I suggest you keep your dog on a leash and watch how you speak to me. I won’t hesitate to put you on the floor next to him. Or a bullet in your thick skull.” She spits at Chloe before looking her up and down and turns to walk away through the people. “Courtney, Courtney!” I call after her when Wolf, Snake, Storm, and Dagger step in front of me. Just great. “You better start talking, Venom. And now!” Wolf says as Chloe tries to talk to him and he ignores her. “Daddy, why is she here? What the f**k is going on?” Chloe screeches like a wounded cat. I wince her voice goes through me. “She is my daughter! Your sister and by what has just happened, I would say you and him have a lot of explaining to do. So my office now! Storm, go and check on Courtney and bring her as well.” Wolf gives his orders and Chloe and I just look stunned. No, this is not possible. He turns and walks away and I follow behind him and Chloe tries to grab my hand and I rip it away from her and her face falls. “Don’t touch me.” I seethe at her and she looks down. f**k her. I enter the office and see Wolf sitting behind his desk and I walk in like I’m going to get my ass handed to me, which I am. Chloe enters behind me, and she closes the door. “Start talking!” He says all too calmly, and I gulp, knowing he knows. Hell, the entire club now knows what a piece of s**t I am. “Firstly, I didn’t know who she was. I was dating her for a few months. She never mentioned you. I loved her. I was going to make her my ole lady.” I say and Chloe gasps, but neither of us acknowledges her. “Then let me guess, you knocked up both of my daughters, left the one you say you loved and stayed with the other?” He says and I flinch when you say it like that it’s bad. No matter what way you look at it, it’s bad. Shitty even. But I don’t know if the baby Chloe was carrying was even mine. “I didn’t know Courtney was pregnant. Hell, I didn’t know where she was. She up and left with her crazy b***h of a mother.” Wolf is up out of his chair and pinning me against the wall by my throat. “Never speak of my wife like that again. Do you understand me, Kaden?” He hisses in my face. “Dad, leave him. He isn’t worth it.” We all turn to the voice and Wolf releases my throat and walks to Courtney. I rub my throat and look at her with blurry vision. It hits me, oh f**k. She looks like the woman in the picture Chief showed me. That means … Chief is looking for her. But why?
