Chapter 49.
Courtney POV.
6
I am shaking, looking at the phone as he hangs up. I need to call my grandpa. I need to find Grim. I need to…
“Courtney, look at me, baby. Breathe, he will not get close to you. Breathe.” I’m trembling as I grip Kaden’s wrists as I hyperventilate.
My dad rubs my back, and I choke on a sob. Not wanting to believe what Grim said, but I know he wasn’t bluffing. He will kill them, all of them. I need to speak to my grandpa. Was Grim telling the truth about my momma? Was she meant to be his?
I copy Kaden and I start to calm down, but there is a knot in my stomach. A knot of hatred, fear, and anger. He knows we have them. He knows the club has ridden out to get him. This is
a trap.
“We need to find the mole. Whoever it is, is a f*****g traitor. The clubs are riding into a trap. We need to call them back now, strategize, and take him out before he can get to me. Why does he want me?” I know the answer, but this is not happening.
“I’m on it, sweetheart. Just calm down and think of the baby.” My dad says and I take a big
breath in, hold it for three seconds and slowly breathe it out. I do that a few more times and
the knot in my stomach loosens up.
“I need to speak to Max.” I say to Kaden and he nods his head and takes my hand and leads
me out of the office and towards the bar where Max is wiping down the bar top.
He smiles when he sees me, but his smile drops and he throws the cloth and runs around the
bar to my side.
“What happened?” He asks, checking me over and I shake my head.
“Who is your dad’s contact here?” I ask him, and he looks at me in confusion. Like I’m
speaking a different language.
“I don’t know. As far as I knew, I was the only one he sent here.” He says and I don’t like this
one bit. The knot has gone and I stand to my full height and look around the room and see the
members watching me.
It could be anyone here. The mole wouldn’t have gone on the run, no they will be reporting
back. Grim called, knowing I am in charge.

“Courtney, what is going on?” Max asks me and he is becoming panicked.
I look at Kaden, and he nods his head for me to tell him.

“Not here. I need to do something first and you will be told.” I say to him. I straighten my spine and do the one thing I know I have to.
“CHURCH, NOW!” I shout, and the members all stand and pile into the conference room. Kaden is stoic and I know he is thinking the same as I am.
But what if I’m wrong? What if the one who is the mole is on the run? Then that would mean my grandpa is in more danger than he was before.
I walk into the conference room and Max takes all the phones and places them in a metal tin and closes, the lid just as my dad enters the room, closing the door behind him. I take my seat at the head of the table.
“Be seated.” I say and wait for them all to sit down. I look at each and every man here. I hold their gaze for a few seconds before moving on. No one looks away, no one flinches.
“Ok, I’m just going to come right out and say it. Wait, where is Richie?” I ask because he isn’t
in here. That son of a b***h!
“Max, go and get Richie and tell him his acting president has called Church and if he is not in
here in the next two f*****g minutes, I will come for him myself.” I’m losing my patience. I
don’t care if he is usually excluded from Church, but he is a goddamn member of this club and
he should be in here. I look at Fabio and he smirks at me, nodding his head slowly.
I wait as my dad and Kaden move to sit on either side of me. Fabio moves to stand behind
- me. Kaden holds my hand under the table as we all wait in silence. Everyone is afraid to
breathe in case it sets me off. One thing these men know is to not piss off a pregnant woman.
We are psychotic at the best of times and more when we are pregnant. Well, I am at least.
The door opens and Richie comes in looking confused as he takes me in, sitting in his
president’s chair.
“Nice of you to join us. Sit down, please.” I say to him and he nods his head and sits down.
“Ok, now that everyone is here. I have just had a phone call from Grim.” The room erupts into angry murmurs and I wait for them to settle down, feeling a headache coming on. When I grab the gavel and bang it on the table like Judge Judy.
*ENOUGH!” They quiet down and I take a breath.
“As I was saying, Grim has not long called me and he knows who I am. He also knows we

have his wife, daughter and that his son is now a member. So gentlemen, that tells me we
have a f*****g mole within the club. I will find them and when I do, they will wish their momma swallowed.” I say and they all look shocked before it quickly turns to them being pissed.
“Who do you think it is?” One of the members asks, and I look at him.
“Right now, I don’t know. But what I do know is Grim, being the lovely bastard he is, is giving me three days to decide what to do, otherwise he is going to go after every man, woman, and child under our protection. I need your help in finding who this traitor is. Before anyone says it is Max. Let me tell you this, it isn’t. Grim told me I could kill his kids and wife on one condition.
“I tell them, looking at Max and he is raging.
“What condition did dear ole dad give you?” Max asks and I sit up straighter.
“He wants me as compensation. Certain things have come to light, that I need to speak to
Chief about. But he wants me. I am the key to him getting what he wants. The MC and the
Cosa Nostra. So gentlemen, brothers, I think we need to do our own form of hunting. What do
y’all say?” I tell them and they all look at each other and I wait for them to decide.
“Aye.” My dad and Kaden say at the same time and I nod my head, then Max and the rest of
them. I look at Richie and he nods his head.
“I may not always be present in these meetings, but I am a member of this club. Chief is a great president and don. So I will help find who this mole is. Give me forty–eight hours. I will
have them.” Richie says, and I nod with a slight smirk on my face.
“Thank you Richie. Guys, I am taking this threat seriously. I want to put another lockdown in place. So please get in touch with the families of the members who have gone on the club run and get them here. We have the room. I want everyone under the same roof in the next eight hours. Church adjourned.” I hit the gavel on the table and everyone piles out, only leaving me,
dad, Kaden, Max, and Fabio.
“Fabio, I need you to call the dons and get them to do their thing for their families and territories.” I say and the four of them nod their heads. I stand up and walk to the door.
“Where are you going?” Kaden asks and I look at him over my shoulder.
“To speak to Michelle. She holds the information I need. If she doesn’t play nice, then I will
send her back to Grim in a little box.”
