Courtney POV.
Kaden is looking at me like he has seen a ghost. I look away from him. He will not see me cry,
he will not see me break. He has no f*****g right to look hurt after what he did to me.
“Baby girl, are you ok?” Wolf asks me and I nod my head as I shuffle towards the chair where
Storm is standing. I sit down with the help of Storm and I thank him. And he just winks at me.
The room is so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
“Courtney, tell me how you know Venom?” Wolf asks and I sigh and look at Kaden before I
look at the w***e and then at Wolf.
“Kaden, sorry Venom and I dated for a few months. Momma told me to stay away from bikers
because all they do is hurt people.” I watch Wolf and Kaden both flinch, like I’ve just slapped
them.
“She was right, as always. I went to meet him after receiving a text. I went to find him at the
hotel he was staying at and walked in as he was balls deep inside that. She told me he
needed a woman who could handle him. He just looked at me, dazed, and didn’t say a f*****g
word. So, in true Morrison style, I told her she could have him and walked away.” I say,
watching Kaden go through an array of emotions. I sneer at him. Asshole he has no right to
feel upset.
“I found out I was pregnant a few weeks later. I told momma, and we moved. I was content
knowing I could raise my child on my own, just like momma had done with me. Then momma
got sick.” I look from Kaden to Wolf and he squats in front of me. I haven’t told him how she
died, but he is going to find out now.
“She was diagnosis with stage 4 breast cancer. It had progressed and invaded other tissue, it
was incurable. She was given six weeks to live, she was hospitalised. Momma held on and
fought with her all. She lasted twelve weeks. Then you know the rest.” I say and look away as
Storm sits next to me and side hugs me, pulling me gently into his arms.
Chloe breaks the silence with a scoff. Wolf looks at her and stands to his full height.
“What’s funny Chloe? My wife is dead and you scoff?” he says, getting in her face. I stand with
the help of Storm. Kaden stands to move towards me, but one look from me and he stops.
“Oh please, I’m sorry she died. I really am.” She says, she isn’t sorry at all. The little b***h must
take after her mom.

“But how do we know that thing she is carrying is Kaden’s? I mean, he got me pregnant, you
know. The night you saw us, he told me he loved me.” She says, smiling like a predator
watching its prey.
“My baby has nothing to do with him. I am more than capable of raising my bean alone. I don’t need him or anyone for that matter. So keep your mouth shut or I will close it permanently. I may be pregnant, but that doesn’t mean I will take any s**t aimed at me. So Chloe is it? Shut your goddamn mouth.” I say to her and she blinks innocently at me as the fake tears well in
her eyes.
I watch as Wolf hugs her, and she breaks down. I give the mother of all eye rolls. Seriously!
“Oh please, you are so stupid to fall for that act. No wonder you were tricked into sleeping with that w***e all those years ago.” I voice my opinion out loud and I see Wolf and Kaden both wince. Wait? No f*****g chance. Did I say I had a smart mouth? No, well I do. I won’t take any
s**t or believe a few fake ass tears. b***h, please!
“Oh, this is gold. Tell me Venom, did she drug you too?” I start laughing and shake my head.
“Looks like the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Tell me come bucket, sorry I mean Chloe. Did your momma teach you how to do that?” I laugh again and just like that, her tears vanish and she tries to get to me. I just laugh harder.
“Y’all are so dumb. Wow! Good thing I got my smarts from momma and not you, Wolf.” I shake my head as I turn to the door.
“Courtney, wait.” I stop as my hand touches the door handle. I look over my shoulder at Kaden and he is walking towards me as Wolf tries to restrain the come stain.
“That baby is mine. I’m sorry for questioning you. I have been looking for you. We need to talk in private.” I raise an eyebrow at him.
“No, baby. You can’t believe what she has just said. She is a w***e she is trying to pin a pregnancy on you. You can’t believe her. I was pregnant too, and you killed that baby.” Chloe screams and I look at him and shake my head. Too much drama for me. But whatever floats your boat.
“That’s where you’re wrong, Venom. We don’t need to talk at all. You made your choice, and you chose her. So this is how this is going to happen. You are going to leave me and my baby alone.” I look at him with fire in my eyes. He looks taken aback at where the sweet woman
went. I sneer as I look him up and down.
“Momma should have shot you that day you came by.” Now he looks shocked that I knew he

came by and momma pulled a gun on him.
“Oh, didn’t think I knew you came by? If she had shot you, she would have saved me the trouble. We are done Venom, we were done the moment you f****d her. Stay away from me. That goes for
you too, Wolf. I don’t need anyone.” I turn and open the door and walk out, closing the door softly behind me.

As I walk away, I can hear Wolf, Kaden, and Chloe all arguing. Wolf has four months to find out why I’m being hunted. If not, then I will go to the president of the Devil’s Warriors and ask myself.
I stop in my tracks with that thought. I have spent my whole life running from invisible bogey men. Maybe that is what I need to do.
Maybe I should go and find the answers for myself? No more running and hiding. Jesus wept. I’m twenty years old.
I can’t run forever, not when I have my bean to think about.
“Hey Courtney. Everything ok?” I hear a crash and a scream coming from the office and I flinch. Not my circus.
“Yeah, Snake, I’m fine. Could you show me to my room, please? Today has been exhausting and I need a nap.” I say to him and he nods his head before looking behind me. I look behind me and Chloe runs in the opposite direction, sobbing into her hands, and Kaden leaves the office with a bloody nose and split lip. I wince slightly and then look away. He deserves it.
“Courtney.” I ignore him as I take Snake’s arm and he leads me away. I can hear the heavy steps of Kaden as he walks behind me. He is still calling my name.
He grabs my arm, and I turn and face him. Kaden is beautiful. Over six feet tall, and built like a
wall. He has black and grey ink on his arms and chest and back. His dark hair is in a tight
man bun and those eyes they sparkle like emeralds.
“Please, just hear me out. I know you hate me, and rightly so. But please, we need to talk. It’s
important.” I look at him. Can I believe anything he says to me? How do I know that whatever
he has to say isn’t going to be some lie or a way to get back in my good graces? No, Kaden
Venom Frost can f**k off.
“We have nothing to talk about. I’ve made myself clear.” I rub my bump and he follows the
movement.
“We don’t need you. You threw us away. You have made your bed, Kaden, with my sister. That
is where you will stay. When I have my baby, it will be far away from here and you.” I say as I

look from him to Snake and nod my head once and I start to walk away.
“You will not be taking my kid away from me. You hear me spitfire. You won’t. I will fight you on this,” he says and I stop in my tracks once more and whirl around to face him.
“Knock yourself out.” I say before I turn and walk away with Snake at my side.
“Soooo, how was your first time with us?” Snake asks and I chuckle at him as we walk to a door and he punches in a code and the door unlocks.
“The code is changeable. All your things are inside. If you need anything. Just holla.” He says,
and I nod my head at him.
“Thank you Snake. But we will be fine.” I say as I walk inside and he just nods his head at me
as I close and lock the door. Leaning against the door I close my eyes.
Today will be put in a locked box and forgotten about. I need to do my own digging into the
Devil’s Warriors and find out what I can. Why are they after me and momma? What did she do
to garner their attention? Who are the people that killed her family?
