Chapter 56.
Courtney POV.
+3 Point:
I can’t believe what I am reading. Storm is Benito’s grandson. But that’s not all. Storm or Hudson was arranged to be married to Peter Ivanov’s daughter, Katya. But Katya found out about Storm’s affair with Chloe and refused to go through with it. I could use this.
After all, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. But Katya is no ordinary woman. She is a Bratva princess. Oh, Storm, what have you done, you stupid boy!
Peter Ivanov was making a deal with not just Benito but Grim as well. From this information, text messages, and emails. Ivanov was going to betray both Grim and Benito for his daughter’s humiliation.
I feel like my Christmases and birthdays have just rolled into one. Ivanov would be a very
powerful ally. He wants revenge on both men for Storm and Chloe’s affair. If you can believe
what the communication between Ivanov and his allies in the east says.
Ivanov sees Grim and Benito as traitors. But Ivanov is not acting. He is waiting, patient, he will
wait for the right time to strike. I think I need to give this patience thing a try.
I would never be able to sit back and watch as my daughter got hurt, no I would react swift
and just. I smirk as I see the phone number on the screen.
I open the encrypted software and type in the number.
Me: Mr Ivanov, I believe we have a common enemy. I would like to meet with you to discuss
further.
I hit send and now I wait. I continue reading the rest of the information Karma sent me when a
message appears.
Ivanov: I know who you are, miss Gambino. We do have a common enemy. I also know you have just re–routed my shipment, clever girl. But what can you offer me? So that I don’t rat you
out?
Well, s**t!
Me: Revenge for your daughter, as you will be providing revenge for me and my family. So what do you say? Will you meet with me?
I wait for his reply and it comes swift.

Ivanov: Send me the location, date, and time. I look forward to meeting you, Courtney.
I smile and send him the location, date, and time. Tomorrow at midnight on the outskirts of
town.
Ivanov: See you soon.
The door to the bedroom opens and Kaden walks in carrying a tray of food. I smile big at him
and my stomach growls as the smell of grilled cheese hits me.
“You haven’t eaten since this morning. Come on, you have worked hard enough. Come and
rest.” Kaden says as he sets the tray down on the chair by the bed. He removes the laptop
from my lap and replaces it with the tray before climbing up next to me.
“Thank you baby, I’m starved.” I say, taking a bite out of the grilled cheese. I moan as the tang
of the melted cheese hits my tongue. Kaden kisses my head.
“What have you been up to?” He asks me and I wipe my mouth and look at him as I chew
slowly before I swallow.
“Oh, you know, hacking and speaking to a Bratva pakhan. That sort of thing. How about you?”
say with a shrug, and he looks at me, furrowing his eyebrows.
“Wait, back–up. I need to hear this,” he says with a chuckle, so I tell him everything I have
found out and by the time I’m finished, he looks at me with pride and adoration.
“Well, you are a dark horse. This is better than Jerry Springer. So you are going to meet with
this Bratva boss? Well, you ain’t going on your own. I am coming with you.” He says to me and I smile at him and kiss him with my greasy lips.
“Of course you’re coming so is Max and my dad. The location isn’t far from here so we can
use the excuse of me not feeling well and that should give us plenty of time. Besides, I’m in
charge, so no one can really say s**t. Any news from my grandpa yet?” I ask because time is
running out before Grim makes his play.
“No, nothing. But Richie has information for you.” He says and I bite the inside of my lip and I
know in my gut that my grandpa is in danger. We have all tried to get in touch with him and he
is not answering.
My eyes widen, and I grab my phone.
“What is it?” Kaden asks me as I find Storm’s number.
“I’m calling Storm.” I say when Kaden snatches the phone from my grip.
“Hey, what do you think you’re doing?” I snap at him and he shakes his head.

“No, what are you doing? Have you forgotten who he is?” He snarls at me oh are we doing
this? Ok. I move the tray and stand from the bed and glare at him head on. My hands placed
on my lower back to easy the ache.
“I know who he is. He doesn’t know I know. So, I will call him and ask him to put my grandpa
on the phone and I then I will try something to get Grandpa to know he is in danger.” I say to
Kaden and he just looks at me and shakes his head.
“No, it’s too risky. Just trust me on this,” he says and I sigh, shaking my head. When my phone
chimes with a message. I hold my hand out with an eyebrow raised as Kaden looks at the message notification and he releases a breath.
“Here, it’s your grandpa.” He says and I take the phone and read the message. My heart is in
my throat as I open the message.
Grandpa: Courtney, I am sorry I haven’t been in touch. It has been a long ride. We are not far
from where Grim’s clubhouse is. We will head in tomorrow. Tell me, how are things back
home?
I re–read the message and something is off.
“This is not Grandpa. Something is off.” I say to Kaden as I read the message again.
“Looks normal to me. What’s wrong with it?” Kaden asks and I chuckle.
“Grandpa wouldn’t text. He hates texting. He is old–fashioned, he prefers to call. So this is not him.” I say as my heart pounds painfully in my chest and my hands shake as I gulp the
invisible knot in my throat.
“Maybe he couldn’t call where he is. He said he is not far from Grim’s clubhouse. It is safer to text instead of call when in enemy territory you never know who is listening.” Kaden says, and I know he has a point, but this is my grandpa. He wouldn’t care about that. He would still call because even though he is old–fashioned, he is also brazen and extremely pig–headed, set in
his ways.
I shake my head, no I won’t accept that at all. I know my grandpa even in the short time I have
known him.
“There is only one way to be sure.” I say as I dial his number and it just rings out before going
to voicemail.
I sigh and sit back down on the edge of the bed. My head bowed as I tighten my grip on the phone in my hand. My gut is screaming at me, telling me something is wrong. I put the phone
on the bed.

I reach for the laptop and pull up the coordinates for Grim’s clubhouse and calculate the
distance from here to there.
Grandpa would have arrived yesterday. So why only make contact now? I put my grandpa’s number into tracker and the location pings from inside the clubhouse.
The phone on the bed rings and I look from the laptop screen to the name flashing on the
screen.
“Hello, Grandpa!” I say my heart is pulsing in my throat. When I hear a groan and a chorus of grunts. My eyes widen when I hear a deep chuckle.
“Hello, little dove.”
