Chapter 6.
Courtney POV.

I unpacked my things and tried to sleep, but I just can’t. My stomach grumbles and I sigh, bean as usual gives a good kick. I check the time and it’s late. They should be sleeping right? Only one way to find out.
“Ok, I know baby bean. You are hungry. How about bacon and grilled cheese with pickles and peanut butter?” I say as I rub my bump and I receive a flurry of kicks in response and I
chuckle. “Ok, a monstrosity it is, then.”
I stand up and head to the door. I unlock it and gently pull the door open. I pop my head out and check each direction of the hallway and listen for any noise. Silence.
I step out in my pyjamas and close the door behind me and go in search of the kitchen. I was shown where everything was before, but my baby brain was just not braining. New surroundings and people and all that.
I walk down the hallway and come to the large bar area. No one is here. I walk towards the kitchen and fumble around for the light switch. Finding it, I turn the lights on. I step into the catering size kitchen that has a steel American fridge–freezer, clean countertops, and a top of the range oven and stove. I rub my hands together in pure happiness as I walk to the fridge and open it.
I
Grabbing out ingredients to make a bacon and grilled cheese sandwich. I grab the pickles and peanut butter out, too. I get to work scooping peanut butter on a spoon and popping some on a plate before scooping more on the spoon and pop it in my mouth as I go in search of knives.
Finding them in the cabinet under the counter. I smile and get to work on my sandwich.
“Whatcha making?” I jump and squeal as I turn and see Storm, Snake, and Dagger standing in the doorway, watching me.
“Jesus Christ, you trying to make me go into premature labour? You asshat!” I say before I
turn back to what I’m doing.
“Sorry, Courtney, we didn’t mean to frighten you.” Dagger says as all three of them enter the
kitchen and watch what I’m doing.
“Let me guess, y’all are hungry?” I say and I look at Dagger, and he nods his head. I roll my
eyes.
“Ok, I’ll make something for you all. I always make too much.” I’m not lying. Momma used to

say I was a feeder. Whenever I would cook, I would make enough to feed the block.
The three biker men all help with passing me things and getting plates and cutlery ready.
Then I stiffen slightly and I know he is in now in the kitchen. My body always knew when he was close. Kind of like my spidey sense.
“You hungry too Venom?” I ask as I turn my head and he nods his head.
“Ok, you can use the kitchen when I’m done.” I turn back to what I’m doing when Storm and
Snake chuckle.
“Courtney, we need to talk.” I sigh and shake my head and carry on loading up the bread
before placing them in the pan.
Hearing the sizzle as the bread hits the pan. The smell makes my mouth water as I grab a
pickle and eye it.
I could have some fun with this. Yes, I can be a b***h when the occasion calls for it. Let’s see
how far I can push him.
I turn and lean against the counter, my eyes on him as I bring the pickle to my lips and moan as the salty, sour tang hits my tongue. My eyes close as I suck on the pickle a few times. I hear him take a shuddering breath in as I slowly open my eyes, watching him as I swirl my
tongue, then bite down hard and he winces. I crunch loudly.
“That is so f*****g good.” I grab the plate with the dollop of peanut butter on and dip the pickle in it. Pregnancy cravings are disgusting to others, but for a pregnant woman, this is better
than s*x.
I turn back, fighting the smirk on my evil little face, and flip the grilled cheese over and ignore
him completely.
“You are evil. I love it.” Strom whispers in my ear and I eye him suspiciously.
“I have no idea what you are talking about.” I wink at him and he smiles at me.
“Sit down. We can do this. You have had a trying few days, Court. Take a load off.” Storm says and Snake takes my hand and guides me to the seat, and I sit down. Who would have thought these gruff bikers were gentlemen?
I move my eyes to Venom and just watch him.
“We need to talk.” I roll my eyes at him.
“Fine, talk. Make it quick.” I say to him and he looks from me to the men busy cooking. I have never seen Kaden like this before. He was always so confident and cocky. Now, well, now he

looks broken. Serves him right. That’s what happens when you put your d**k where it doesn’t
belong.
“Here you go Court.” A plate is placed in front of me, and I clap my hands together like a
demented seal. Minus the barking.
I dig in and moan again as the bacon and cheese explodes on my tongue. The other three
make quick work on their sandwiches. They kiss my cheek and leave the kitchen.
Snake looks from me to Kaden.
“Remember where you are, Venom. Wolf may tolerate you and your s**t behaviour, but we
won’t. Hurt her and you will have a problem.” Snake glares at him before he too leaves the kitchen, closing the door behind him.
I kiss my teeth and wait for Kaden to speak.
“What you waiting for? Talk.” I say and he sits opposite me.
“Courtney. I need to apologise for what I did to you. Yes, I suspect Chloe drugged me that night because I never sent that text message.” Well, it didn’t take a genius to figure that out.
Bravo Kaden.
“Moving on.” I say, getting bored with this. I will not show that he has hurt me. It is better to be
indifferent and cold.
“I’m also sorry for the death of your momma. I know she meant the world to you.” I look away
from him. He has no right to mention my momma. He didn’t know her or the struggles she
and I faced.
“That is why I need to talk to you. It is about your momma and why the Devil’s Warriors are looking for you,” he says, and I look at him. How did he know?
“If you know the reason, then you should be speaking to Wolf. Not me.” I say to him as I
struggle to stand up.
“Here, I’m not trying to blow smoke up your ass. My club is …”
“ENOUGH! Enough. I don’t care about your f*****g club or you, Kaden. So just f*****g tell me!” I snap at him and glare at him.
“Courtney, the Devil’s Warriors are looking for you. The president of that club is looking for you. Well, your momma.” He says, and I blink at his words. Well, I knew that, but why?
“Ok, tell me why?” I say, and he shakes his head.

“I don’t know. I was sent to find these two women. Chief is desperate. Here look.” He pulls out
his phone and slides it across to me, and I look at the picture. My eyes widen. That is momma when she was younger. Maybe my age.
“How does he have this photograph of her? Kaden, how does he have it?” I ask him and he
stands and walks to me as I look at the picture. He reaches for me and hugs me.
“I don’t know. He is looking for you both. My club is the sister club of his. I’m sorry baby, I’m so
sorry. I had no idea who you or your momma were. I love you, Courtney, and I promise I will do
my best to protect you and our baby.” He says and I go to say something when the door opens
hitting the wall and in walks Chloe, looking unkempt. In only a shirt, a shirt I recognise.
I shove him back and take a few steps back. He is still sleeping with her. The audacity of his
man, this man–w***e. How dare he spew this bullshit after he has just f****d my sister!
“Oh, there you are, baby. I thought you were getting a drink and coming back to bed for round
three.” I look round him to her and see the red marks on her neck. She sees me and smiles at
me before she walks to Kaden and places her hand on his arm.
“Sorry sis, didn’t see you there.” She giggles innocently and I turn on my heel and walk out.
“Did I do something wrong Kadey–baby? She is so sensitive.” b***h!
“Courtney, wait, it’s not what it looks like.” Kaden calls after me and I stop before turning to
face him.
“Not interested in this drama. So save it. As for what you have told me, thanks.” I say and turn
and walk away as I hear him and Chloe arguing.
I need to get to the Devil’s Warriors and find out why Chief had that picture of my momma and
why he is so hell bent on finding us.
