Chapter 66.
Courtney POV.
The drive back to Chief’s clubhouse was a blur. I smiled the whole way back. Only because I know the team that I put together did the job well.
So here I am sitting in the living room watching the news, eating popcorn with the club
members. It is on every news channel. All the locations that where Grim’s warehouses. Are
now ash. Of course, before the buildings were blown up. I had all of Grim’s product, guns,
ammunition. Anything of value taken, and it is secured in a location only a hand full of people
know about.
I don’t know who I can trust, especially after what I learnt in California. Wolf has tried to make
contact, but I eventually blocked him. I know he, Storm, Ivanov and even Grim himself will be
pissed with what I did, but you know what? f**k them!
The clubhouse door opens and in saunters Chloe. Oh, I forgot about her. Well, there is no point
in keeping her alive. As far as I am concerned, Ivanov can kiss my fat ass. Chloe is my
prisoner, but I will still use her to take down Grim. Two birds, one bullet.
“Courtney, are you ok?” She acts concerned, but I can see the hatred she tries to hide. She
hates me and is only playing nice because she needs me. I don’t need her, but I will use her
because, well, I can.
“I’m fine. As a matter of fact, I’m amazing.” I say to her. Her eyes flash with disdain and I smirk
at her as I continue to watch the TV. It is at that moment she sees what I’m watching and
gasps.
I turn my head to look at her and watch her reaction. The colour has drained from her face and
she is trembling. Ha!
“You did this!” She spits her anger at me and I burst out laughing and nod my head.
“Yeah, I did. So what? Go on, run back to daddy and tell him.” I say to her, waving her off and
her eyes go wide. If she was a cartoon character, they would be rolling on the floor now next to her open mouth.
“Chloe darlin, close your mouth, no one wants to fill it.” I say with a smirk, and she growls at me. I chuckle as I stand up, but I’m not the only one standing up.
“You b***h! You have just ruined everything!” She snaps as she charges forward. If she was looking at me properly, she would have seen the Glock in my hand as I raise it and point it at

her. She skids to a stop and puts her hands up.
“Now, Courtney. Take it easy. You need me, remember? I know I can help you take down my father. Same as you promised me I could take down Storm.” She says as she backs away slowly from me. I step closer to her and back her against the wall.
“Actually, I don’t need you at all. I know where you father is and as for Storm, my bad. I think he is dead. You see, I stabbed him.” I tell her, I know Storm is alive. He, too, has been calling so another person who has gone into the void of the blocked list. Once you enter that list, there is no getting out. I smile sweetly at her, batting my eyelashes and tilt my head innocently to the side. I’m using all the mannerisms she would use on every person around her to get what she
wants.
“You still need me, Courtney. You know you do. Please don’t do this. I can be of help. Daddy will want me back and alive. I know he will.” She is crying now. I roll my eyes as Max, Kaden,
and Fabio walk in.
“Max, brother. Please help me. She is crazy. She is going to kill me.” She sobs and I look at
Max and he just shrugs his shoulders.
“Oh well, I will attend your funeral. Sorry sis, I’m team Courtney. You are nothing to me, or
Grim. He was willing to sacrifice us like he did our mom. But you, like the loyal little b***h you
are, are still working for him. You need to get over it and grow the f**k up. If Courtney decides
to end you now. So be it.” Even I’m momentarily shocked at his words.
I think Chloe has malfunctioned, and the actual tears fall. She clearly isn’t used to her brother
being a meany. Well, she is about to be knocked down a peg or two, or maybe even several.
Hell if she is lucky I may just knocked her ass out.
“The conditions have changed Chloe. You see, there is someone who is dying to have your
head. I believe you know her.” I say to her and she wipes her eyes, smearing her mascara over
her face.
“Who wants my head?” she stutters out, and I lean closer to her, keeping my eyes on her.
“Katya Ivanov. I believe you know of her.” I say and she falls to the floor. Her knees cracking on the wood flooring. I step back as she clutches her chest. She looks like she is going to pass
out. Such a pity, really. Note the sarcasm. Dumb w***e.
“No, you can’t change the conditions of our deal, Courtney. That’s not fair, and you know it.” She crawls on her hands and knees and begs me, her hands together like she is praying to
God.

“What’s not fair is what you, your mom, you dad, and his family have done to me and mine. So let’s not go there. You think I need you, Chloe? I don’t. So you will be going on a little hop, skip, and a jump to Russia, where Katya will no doubt play with you for a bit.” I tell her and she sobs again. Ok, I’m not usually this mean, well that was the other me.
“Please, Courtney, I will take you to my dad. I will help you destroy him, but please, please don’t hand me over to her. She will kill me. You promised you would let me help. So let me help. Please!” I feel nothing looking at her. My heart hardened and my face stoic, blank of any
emotion.
“Why would I let you help me? You think you are so smart Chloe, a few fake tears, batting your fake eyelashes and I would become putty in your dirty hands. No. You can’t fool me. But.” I say and her eyes light up at that one word.
“But what?” she asks with a gulp as she looks up at me from her kneeling position on the
floor. Like I can save her.
“But I may have a use for you after all. You see, I think we have established your dad isn’t bothered whether you live or die. Same as Storm, Kaden. Hell, even your own brother. It would seem I am your life line Chloe. So I will tell you this, you cross me.” I lean down so I’m eye to eye with her and she gulps, moving back slightly.
“And it won’t be Katya you will have to worry about. You feel me?” I say with an element of control in my voice. She nods frantically, like she is trying to negotiate with a predator.
“Yes, tell me what you want me to do. I will do anything.” She says, and I smile at her. She
shivers under that smile.
“You may regret saying anything, Chloe. But no matter. It is really simple, something even an airhead like you can do. I want you to do something so small for me. I want you, Chloe, to
deliver a message. Before you die.”
